This is a nice place to hang out and people watch. Recommend the upstairs restaurants overlooking the square.

“Lush shaded plaza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

Plaza Bolivar is a good place to relax and take a break from the sun. There's plenty of shade and while you're at it, you can check out on the map where you want to go next. The Inquisition Museum is right there and there's a money exchange office at the white "portals", south of the plaza. A few steps away you'll find the Cathedral, the Palacio de la Proclamación, Plaza de la Proclamación and the Gold Museum (free Tuesday - Sunday).

“Beautiful and Quaint”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Plaza Bolivar is probably the nicest plaza in Cartagena. Nice places to sit under the mature trees with museums and the cathedral bordering the plaza. A must see.

“Photographers dream...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

So many thing to photograph, People, food vendors, Shoe shiners, cars. This is a great place to see stop and rest. From a park bench in the shade you can watch people feeding the pigeons from their hands. Fun place...

“Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

This was a quiet place to sit in front of the statue of Bolivar. It is right in front of the Inquisition and the Museum Oro. Nice shady spot on a hot day.
