“Great place to eat or have a drink. Day or night”
Reviewed January 17, 2014 via mobile

The church is a magnificent back drop while hanging out. I would rate 5 stars but the street vendors can be aggressive. Regaurdless I go here often mid day for coffee.

“Worth visiting”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

A nice place for a coffee and people watching. Popped into the old church on the square for a visit, very interesting. Gets very busy at night in the square so be careful.

“Vibrant, busy, beautiful”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

Plaza Santo Domingo is a great place to catch a bit to eat, with a load of choices. Outside dining was our choice ... Gertruda (I think that's the name!), the huge bronze-like statue of a beautiful, large, naked woman in the Plaza is great. Rubbing her nipple is supposed to bring luck!

“Plaza - People Watch at the Millennium Restaurant”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

You are bound to walk through this plaza while in Cartagena - it is one of the most visited in the city and herein lies the problem. There are lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from here and the street vendors will visit your table wherever you sit. We chose the Millennium Restaurant and were bombarded with street vendors who weren't overly pushy, it's just that there are so many of them. I thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous seafood salad at the Millennium as I watched walkers-by touch the bottom of the sculpture by Fernando Botero, a well-known Colombian artist. Be sure to choose from the lunch menu to get the best price!

“Pretty square - but rather a hassle”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

A good plaza for a drink and for people watching: a decent spot to have a rest after exploring the beautiful streets of the old town. The church which the plaza is named after is worth a visit. But food is pretty basic - stick to appetizers - and it is rather overrun by musicians, hawkers, and others trying to raise a dollar.
