I spent one night at this hostel in a co-ed dorm room. The hostel is in a great location and on a quieter street.
The hostel itself is older and a bit run down. The bathrooms are small and a bit grubby although they do have cleaners. The common areas have dirty looking futons and chairs. There are two bathrooms on the main floor (where there are no bedrooms so not convenient for bedtime bathroom breaks), two toilets on the second floor (where the bedrooms are) and two showers on the second floor.
The rooms have air conditioning which is a rarity. That said, the AC is only turned on late at night and is turned off at 8 in the morning. Still, in a city with average temperatures of 27 degrees celsius, it helped to have the AC at night!
The dorm rooms have curtains surrounding the bunks which was nice for privacy and keeping out the light if people came in late at night. The lockers were just above each bunk, in a sort of strange place and somewhat hard (or awkward) to access but as they are within the "curtain closed" area of each bunk, it kept them private.
No breakfast. They do have a kitchen there.
This hostel is cheaper than many in Cartagena so it's decent value.More
