“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

We had a wonderful dinner with a petit pois and mint gazpacho, a delicious piquillo peppers risotto with sautéed artichauts and a pastry of L' Opera. The atmosphere was great, though the service a little slow, but we were not in a hurry. I recommend this restaurant if you come to Cartagena

“Sofitel Santa Clara restaurant”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

We stumbled on this restaurant by accident. Walking at night in old town Cartagena we saw a bar in a big plain building. Little did we knew that it was the bar entrance to Sofitel Santa Clara. Upon entering we decided to have coffee and proceeded to the beautiful interior of the hotel. After coffee in the courtyard we asked for a tour of the hotel. We loved everything but especially the restaurant so we made a reservations for next day. Perfect dinner in the most enchanting place. Highly recommend to anybody visiting Cartagena.

“Cartagena's most elegant!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Returned with our out of town guests to 1621 restaurant of the beautifully renovated convent of Hotel Santa Clara(Sofitel). We started our culinary experience in the Cave a Vin,tasting different Chilean wines. We nibbled on prosciutto crudo of Pata Negra and various French and Colombian cheeses.
We then continues to the restaurant named for the year the Covent was founded by the Clarissa nuns. The service and food was that of a 3 Michelin star restaurant under the Maitre'd Christophe's watchful eye and the Parisian Chef,Isabel Alexandre.
Christophe prepared the steak tartar at the table while the Chef came out to inspect our dishes. It does not get better! The sommelier,Oscar Santos recommended a fantastic Chilean wine,Alma Negra for the last bottle
No wonder the Presidents of countries including our Prime Minister enjoyed this restaurant so much!!!!

“Impeccable Service, Food and Decoration”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

It’s a restaurant inside of the beautiful hotel Sofitel Santa Clara. We stayed in the hotel, but if you’re not staying there, it a really good way of visiting the hotel and enjoying the restaurant.
It’s a five star restaurant, with impeccable service, food and decoration.
It’s a little imposing, but in a nice way, although I do recommend dressing a bit better than for other restaurants in the area.
The food was amazing, we order the Chateaubriand Steak and Salmon Tartare and was fantastic.
I do recommend doing reservation before, get very busy at evening. And you can choose sitting in the garden or inside.
