Amazing place in a nice area of the city by the Rio Cali (Cali River) very close to other nice restaurants, hotels and bars in Cali's west side. It is an old traditional house that has been restored and transformed into a high end restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is magnificent from the very moment you enter the parking lot. Before getting into the restaurant we spent some time in a terrace with nice chill out music enjoying a good martini and one of the best evening weathers and breeze that I know...the one in Cali! We sat at the Spanish restaurant...nicely decorated, very friendly staff and nice live music, although it was not properly Spanish music. I know you can also try the Italian restaurant and I believe a Colombian food one, all in the same place. Now, regarding the food, it was good, but not as magnificent as you should expect from such a place. To be called "Spanish restaurant", you really need to have a much more diverse Spanish menu. I used to live in Spain for several years and my expectation was to find more of the diverse and rich Spanish cuisine and a better possibility for "tapear". The Pulpo a la gallega and the revuelto iberico were good, but the paella was just another rice with vegetables, meat and shrimp...not tasting bad, but far away from a good Spanish paella, that can be a sublime eating experience when cooked properly! Did not find the lovely boquerones, a good jamon iberico, a nice gazpacho, the morcilla de burgos, the pimientos del padron, the pan tumaca, pimientos del piquillo, huevos estrelllados and the beutiful bacalo, among others...dishes that are a must to have in any Spanish eating experience.
I'll come back for sure, and try the other restaurants, and definitely will check on the Spanish restaurant menu to see if new dishes have been included...those are needed!!
