Stayed here for 1 night in March 2012 on a business trip. The hotel is immaculate. Whist the staff do not speak great English, they are so keen to help that nothing is too much trouble

The Vikings bar on the 3rd floor is good for a beer and a game of pool

The huge restaurant on the ground floor for breakfast was very impressive.

Room Tip: Grand Building annexe

Nanyuan hotel is a Chinese hotel with nice rooms, but better if you request the located in the executive floors.
The massage is very nice. My recommendation is the massage located in the west building but if you are looking for a foot massage, go to the 2nd floor of mail building.
The hotel is still nice, it's starting to be old and need a heaviest reforbish to be update again.

I originally booked at the Crowne Plaza in Ningbo. It is an older hotel located in downtown Ningbo. Wasn't great but it was adequate.

My colleagues suggested that I change and I did.

What a pleasant surprise. Beautiful new hotel. Nice area of Ningbo, check in was seamless, Nice rooms, comfortable and luxurious. Hotels in Ningbo are all reasonably priced and all of the major brands are there. But, this hotel is a keeper. Breakfast was good, service was good, room was very cool. Nicely furnished, plenty of windows and electric blinds. I was on the 33rd floor and the view was great.

Good Executive Club too. Great for meetings with colleagues.

I only have 1 complaint and that the was the spa. It's not free for hotel guests and the attendant was a) trying to hard and b) talking on his cell phone. If you want a quick sauna, $30.00 US is a bit much, even if you're on an expense account.

Room Tip: I assume that they're all good but 33rd floor had a great view.

Nanyuang is a five star, twenty eight storey hotel with all the facilities and conveniences that come with such an establishment and all are of very high standard. The hotel entry and the reception area (atrium style) are warm and welcoming, as is the general ambiance in the hotel common areas. The rooms are reasonable in size and elegantly decorated, the bathrooms are equally well appointed and come with all the usual (complimentary) personal hygiene and grooming items. An added feature, not observed by this reviewer before is a separate tap that dispenses drinking water, which is both elegant and convenient. The rooms have electronic locks and come with security safe, tea making and mini bar facilities, free internet access and the like. Another elegant addition is the “pillow bar” where patrons may choose from a range of (fancy) pillows as an indulgence. The hotel of course comes with all the other conveniences and services like business and shopping centers, conference and banquet halls, lounges, restaurants and bars (local, Cantonese, Italian, French, Japanese cuisines), gym, spa, swimming pool, beauty and hair salon, etc., again all of high quality.

One of the highlight of staying in this hotel must be the breakfast, which is an experience by itself. The range of food and the quality is astounding- from dim sums to Japanese to Western- the list goes on. Equally impressive is the service, so swift that there seemed to be an attendant for each table. In addition to the normal beverages there is a coffee bar that caters for any whim it seems, and there is no tendency to hurry the guests along as is the case sometimes. The staff in general are well trained, eager to please and their English more than adequate on the average.

Although classed as a business hotel, it qulifies equally in all respects for family and holiday stays. The location is ideal for both business and pleasure. Although located in the city center, the traffic is not overwhelming, with the added advantage of the readily available public and private transport. There are numerous restaurants, coffee houses, shopping and entertainment establishments within walking distance in any case. The range and diversity of food available (Lebanese, Malaysian, etc.) within a radius of ten minutes walk is breathtaking, including even (surprisingly) a Halal (Muslim) food eatery just across from the hotel. The town itself is not very difficult to navigate; it takes about 30 minutes to get to the airport (20 km) and about 5 minutes to the railway station (2 km). The hotel provides free transfer to and from the airport at a few predetermined times but taxis are not expensive in any case.

Have just returned from Ningbo & the hotel was fantastic. Quiet rooms, very big, super comfortable & soft beds & western bathroom; great internet access & my room was very very clean. Food options were plenty & bar were great. Nice western/ Chinese restaurant directly opposite hotel as well for something quick & different to hotel food.Pool is huge, gym lacks equipment, but has enough treadmills to use. Staff all speak English & are very eager to help.
