Stayed at this property over a long week-end. The hotel was extremely clean and room great. Yet, breakfast quality was overall not at the expected level: a lot of choices but quantity prevailed on quality. None of the staff at concierge was able to speak English and this was frustrating. Surprisingly, there is no swimming pool available! I will stay again at this hotel as conveniently located near my company, but i would consider trying other properties if i were to stay on a pleasure trip.

I stayed in this hotel several times. It's a great, modern and yet traditional hotel. The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are superb, and the walking closet is the icing on the cake. The breakfast is great, including both tasty Chinese and Western food..The dinner buffet is also good but too expensive. One problem is common in China is that there isn't enough non-smoking room. There was one time I was put in a smoking room.

The problem with this hotel is the location. The office I go to work while I'm there is about 1.5 miles from the hotel, in TianFu Software Park. Taxi drivers don't want to take me because it's too close for them to make money (they usually wait in line for one hour at the hotel). There isn't a bus to go to the office. As soon as a taxi driver realizes where I want to go, he usually becomes mad and rude. This is a struggle everyday. It's also too far away to go to downtown. It could take 1 hour to go to downtown in a car in the rush hour.

Room Tip: Suggestion: walk to the subway station which is about 10 min walk and take the subway to go to downt...

Dear Sophie, thank you very much for choosing to stay at InterContinental Century City Chengdu! We are glad to provide tasty foods and enjoyable atmosphere to all the guests. It is so kind of you to understand the waiting taxi drivers, while you may turn to hotel Concierge if you have transportation needs. Besides, a tip for guest who would like to go to downtown during rush hour is taking subway which shortens time to around 20 minutes. Again, thanks to your comments to share with us your experience. We are looking forward to your next trip to Chengdu.

I attended a conference here and it was managed fantastically by the hotel. The hotel has a traditional chinese feel but the service and food is of international standards. It even had vegetarian north Indian food available. The rooms are huge with excellent space and very nice bath. Also the hotel has a big complex of restaurants attached to it where right from sichuan style chinese food to some really great italian pizzas are available. Is a great place with very good value for money as well.

You can anticipate this from the first time you see it arriving at night from Chengdu airport by taxi. The hotel is lit up with strips of blue lights and is definitely the largest building in the area. The entrance hall is huge, so large in fact that it is easy to miss where you should be gong to check in, not to mention the fact that you are entranced in awe at the sheer size of the place. We must have appeared completely lost because a pretty hotel staff saw us and quickly ran over from the other side of the hall to greet us and accompany us to the check-in area, and then proceeded to give us a glass of orange juice each because we "looked so tired" ! Great impression from the first five minutes of getting into the hotel.

The check-in desk is actually located in a small period Chinese house located towards the far end of the hall. It reminded me a bit of large entrance halls of Las Vegas casinos, but without the tackiness. Iwas upgraded to a club room on the 27th floor. The rooms are large and as expected have all the amenities including bathrobes and slippers. It was a real pity that we arrived there late around 10PM and had to leave the next day for customer meetings and a flight to Shanghai.

Buffet breakfast and internet access was included. The buffet is large and varied ranging from Chinese to American fare- the pastries were especially good.

The only negative thing to say is that the bar/lounge on the ground floor permits smoking and if you are someone who is used to smoking being banned at public indoor places, it is not a pleasant place to have a drink. There was also live music.

Pros:
* Large luxury hotel with a wow factor
* Very comfortable and quiet room and bed for a good night's sleep
* Excellent service
* Several restaurants with varying cuisine although we didn't have time to try any
* Large selection in breakfat buffet - excellent pastries
* Live music in the bar/lounge

Cons:
* Smoking permitted in bar/Lounge

Friendly & helpful staff, the most beautiful hotel room I've ever seen, amazing buffet/brunch breakfast, nice restaurants/bars, fancy but cute decorated lobby.
Also, the quality/price ratio is great, very cheap for such a luxuriousness.
The hotel is new, and I was told that it was the best hotel in Chengdu.

The location and view is not that great, but what do you expect from Chengdu, you're definitely not there for the view.

I stayed in Intercontinental during routes Asia conference 2012. Its a huge propoerty with spacious lobby and welcoming staff. The event was in the hotel so did have all 03 meals with the hotel and they were great. There is a small shopping area nearby where one can shop as well as enjoy local food. The hotel has a italian restaurent which has some excellent pizzas on the menu and there's live music in the form of jazz on flute.
On the flip side; I had to change my rooms due Air conditioning was bad and the changed room also has some issues with AC. The swimming pool was being rennovated which was a disappointment but overall its a great luxory business hotel and very much to expectations.

I arrived at night and the hotel is quite a spectical to see at night as it
radiates with very colorful lighting on the exterior. As you enter the very large lobby,
you cannot help but be impressed. The evening I arrived (a Wednesday night)
there was a live band playing which made for an excellent atmosphere.

I had a room on 21st floor which was nice however there is not really any
view worth worrying about. The rooms are decorated with lot's of chinese
art and tringets. It feels a little over done and the standard of finish is
only average at best. The rooms feel a little dark even with all the lights on. Still
bed was supremely comfortable, air con great, excellent block out curtains
and very quiet.

Internet was free in the hotel and I am glad that it was as the speed was painfully slow.

The fitness centre was very large however there were only 2 running
machines. There is a big floor space and adequate selection of electronic
machines and weights. I was only one of three people in the centre for the
whole hour that I attended, so there was not really any issue with the lack
of equipment.

There was a lovely breakfast buffet served on the ground floor with the
surrounds looking like old chinese village. Eveything is however very spread out
with two separate food stations approximately 4O metres apart. Still the
selction was very good, with a good mix of western and asian.

Check out was a challenge. I am clearly too polite for the many chinese
guests who simply barged their way to the front of the queue. The staff
looked stressed and if ever there is a need for some continuous improvement
it was at the check out desk. There were lot's of staff all looking very
stressed, but not much happening.

It was a fine hotel to stay at but if I travel to Chengdu again I think I
will try somewhere else.
