“A nice diversion”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

I wouldn't make a special trip but it was interesting to walk around the grounds (including a nice but slightly tired garden) and to see residents learning and praying while tourists observed. They do a good job of providing a brief explanation of each building and of some of the beliefs and customs practices therein.

“A walk in the monastery”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

It was a lovely and quiet place to wander, providing you avoided the "massage girls" asking to take you to their hotel room. The gardens were very serene. They were doing renovations on parts of the temple and the Vegetarian restaurant was closed. Nice place to visit.

“Historic buddhist zen temple in the middle of town”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

We stayed around the corner from the monastery. It was constantly alive with people during the day, and it is absolutely beautiful. Incorporated are some gardens, which are amazingly peaceful considering the insanity of the traffic just outside the walls. Well worth a look.
