This lovely temple complex is still used for prayer purposes even today. Outside the entrance vendors sell almost life sized incense packs, and these are burned on alters inside as part of the worship service. It is quite moving to see. You cannot take photos inside the temple rooms, as people are praying there. Admission price is very reasonable, nice place to spend an afternoon.

Boasting a history back to the Zhou Dynasty this Daoist temple is rarely seen by tourist and is still visited by Daoist practitioners. The entrance cost is low (about 10 yuan) and is quiet, but not that impressive.

Qingyang has large grounds and several temples inside. Lots to see. Monks live here, can see them practising tai chi or calligraphy. Some nice garden areas.
Not too busy, has a basic picnic area with tables, small shop sells snacks. Entrance fee about 10 rmb. Worth visiting.
Combine with a visit to the 'broad and narrow alleys' as you can walk through the adjacent park to reach them (about 20 mins).

The temple is not overly touristy, it is an active place of worship for Chinese taoists. You can see many people lighting incense and praying inside.

As i walked around, I found a tai chi school run by a taoist monk. He had a high skill level as he showed me some moves and I did some push hands with his disciple. You can read more about this on my blog http://www.monkeystealspeach.co.uk/random-scribbles-%E9%9A%8F%E5%86%99.php
