It is a must do when visiting Chengdu! We caught a 'DiDi' straight from our hotel in the morning. From reviews we got there about 8:30am. We bought tickets at the ticket office out the front. Upon entering we did not realise how large it was. We walked all the way to the back of the 'zoo' and made our way through looking at all of the different enclosures. We saw Giant Pandas of all ages, babies, cubs and adults. They were quite active as they were being fed. As it was winter there were not as many people, however at the main enclosures you had to wait to get a good photo.

I would personally recommend this to anyone visiting Chengdu, this place is huge so do allow a few hours to have a good walk around. there is a lot to see and it's a very calming and relaxing place to be.

It's a giant 'zoo' for viewing giant panda and the small red panda. We had a very good time observing giant panda, taking pictures and video taping them. Go to the base in the early morning when the pandas are fed. We spent about two hours there easily. It was well worth the trip!

It's big, like a normal zoo but very different in that there is only one animal. Actually there are two, the Red Panda and the Giant Panda. Red panda only have a couple of pens and they are smaller and more elusive. There are Pandas everywhere! Just look for a crowd of people and you'll find them. We walked the entire park in about 3 hours.

We arrived there (with our tickets) and they would not recognise them. Said we booked for the wrong date (we didn't). Because of limited English/Mandarin done via translator we decided to pay for new tickets. They told us to cancel the TripAdvisor tickets. We did but no refund due to stupid policy. I have not been able to contact TripAdvisor as there is only a helpline. So, I am giving TripAdvisor a rating if 0/10 but the Giant Panda breeding was just terrific (10/10) and well worth the trip. They also have great coffee and iced donuts shaped like pandas.
