“smart uninteresting hotel with the hardest beds ever”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

This is a reasonably good hotel, pretty near the centre of Chengdu. Everything worked in the hotel, our room was large (two single beds rather than a double), free internet was good enough for Skype. There is an ATM, the restaurant is standard Chinese corporate. The staff are friendly, but have somewhat limited English. The hotel does not take AMEX (perhaps this is standard in China?). It was very cheap for us (£32/night for the double room), I'm not sure if this was a highly discounted rate. I give it 4 rather than 5 stars because the beds were so very hard!

Room Tip: 30th floor is the only one identified as non-smoking

We stayed here on two seperate nights during a tour of Sechuan Province. It was one of the best hotels that we stayed in during our stay.
On our first stay we were given a large room with two large single beds. On our next stay we asked for a double bed and got a slightly smaller room. Double beds are given for single occupancy, so if you want a larger room go for two single beds. Both rooms were well furnished, pleasantly decorated and clean.
We stayed on the 30th and 31st storeys which gave great views over the surrounding area. Being so high up also reduced the street noise.
The hotel is well situated for exploring the shops and there are many restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel had an executive feel to it so we're surprised to read the other reviews calling it a budget hotel.
If we return to Chengdu in the future, we would love to stay here again.

We stayed in the GreenLand Hotel Chengdu for total 3 nights (1 night - 2 nights). Very close to downtown. Walking distance to Wenshu Temple (10-15 minutes walk)

The room we had was on 30th and 32nd floor (30th is the only non smoking floor. The view is very nice. They had 4 elevators for convenience. Room is clean, no complaints.

The staff speak very little English (I can speak a bit of mandarin). The staff knows the area and can tell you which bus to take to which attraction and will draw a little map for you as well! The hotel kept our luggage for 3 days while we were off to Leishan and Emeishan.

One of their street is closed due to the construction of a metro station so its quite `calm` to compared to other Streets. There are some very small local places to eat for very cheap if you don`t mind sitting on the table outside. (We had a meal at a dumpling place 5 minutes away 26RMB for lunch!) There are little shops around for fruits and water.

Expect the check out to be long and there doesn`t seem to be line for anything as they would just ask the staff to check them out even if they are still with the previous client.

The only complaint I have is that since its not on a main street - it was very hard to find a taxi at 6 AM to goto the airport. Plus the there was a valet - busy on the phone the whole time we were trying to catch a taxi instead of helping us find one (Even when I ask him in mandarin to help call one for us).

Clean, good service with good free wifi in rooms. Tea & coffee making in the room. Breakfasts could do with more fruit. Modern building, reasonable rooms, a little tatty paint work in places - seen better days. Large comfortable beds . Would stay here again. Good central location with a supermarket not far away

This is a decent budget hotel. I stayed in two different rooms at this hotel and one room was nicer than the other. I think the hotel is renovating floor by floor so the rooms are hit or miss. Rooms are clean and wifi is included (Wifi is also available in the lobby). The elevators are slow, really slow. Breakfast buffet is ok. Hotel is about 15-20 mins walk from the city center.

The hotel is not far from the city centre and the room amenities are sufficient (including free internet). But the hotel and its decor are a bit dated and the immediate areas are not that facinating. The breakfast and the service are ok. Not a bad choice for a budget hotel in Chengdu.

I came over in Jan 2012 for the Chinese New Year. The staff were very helpful. The floor I was given had wifi access but I was unable to receive it so the assistant manager moved me to another that had it. The bar staff and catering staff were always helpful. Some could not understand english very well, but they always found someone that could. Their responses could be mis-read as rude, but the english must remember that this is a different culture and what may seem rude to us is normal for them and vis-versa.
I can not fault the staff, restaurant or bar. The only issue was the western restaurant was only open for breakfast on the ground floor (floor 1), but the directory said it was open for lunch and dinner too.
The location lets it down a bit, but for a business hotel, being in the business district makes sense.
