Negatives first because overall this is a great non fru fru hotel. Cons: 1) as this hotel really caters to Chinese businessmen don't expect them to know much English outside of checking you in. Communication was incredibly difficult when we tried to order room service, spa services or asking normal questions. They did smile even though they had no idea what we were talking about.

Pluses: 1) great grand lobby - very open. 2) rooms are decent size and the bathrooms are cute. 3) the breakfast and room service food provided great selections. 4) the hotel is connected to a Korean restaurant which I found to be pretty yummy and a nice escape from Chinese food. 5) I went to the gym and I was the only one there! Enough equipment to get a good hour an a half workout in. Although the sauna was not working. 6) they have outdoor ping pong tables! 7) a pool as well! 8) the bar is great with plush seating but no one was in it - which is such a disappointment. Grab a can to the crown plaza's sky bar. 9) the hotel was $80 - $100 a night which was a great deal.

We stayed here for 2 nights but cannot comment on the location as we were picked-up from the hotel for an excursion every time.
The non-smoking room (booked through travelagent) was good and clean.
Breakfast had enough variety in 'western type' of food.
WiFi is available on groundfloor (lobby/breakfast room/bar).

We only stayed in this hotel for one night, but our impressions were good. The room was on the smaller side but very comfortable with good beds, excellent double glazing and a clean, good sized bathroom. The reception staff were helpful and spoke reasonable English. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of both Western and Chinese style food. There is free Wi-fi in the lobby, where there is also a well priced bar. The hotel is a taxi ride from the centre of the city which didn't matter for us but might be inconvenient if you're staying longer.

Unfortunately we arrived very late at night after a long wait at Guilin Airport. We were transported to a feast of coloured lights resembling Blackpool front as we left Chengdu Airport. The Hotel staff were very helpful as the Chinese baggage handlers had tampered with our bags leaving us unable to get into our bag when all we wanted to do was retire to bed they were very helpful. This hotel had a wonderful King size bed and a very unusual modern bathroom with a glass wall and a curtain to preserve your modesty. We only stayed for one night and regret not being able to explore the hotel facilites apart from the wonderful hot buffet breakfast with lots of choices before being rushed off to see the Giant Panda Breeding Research Centre. All in all a pleasure to recommend.

This is a comfortable, clean and well run hotel. We arrived very late and the staff were helpful and efficient. Excellent Wi-Fi in the lobby - best we experienced in China, and complimentary. The rooms were pleasant, everything worked well and the beds were the most comfortable we slept in on our trip. Sadly we were only there for one night because it was one of the better hotels. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and a nice atmosphere.
