The museum is very conveniently located, now that line 2 metro is in operation.
The site itself is quite expansive and green. There's two architectural building to see - the relic hall and the exhibition hall. I would recommend going to the relic hall first to view the actual archeological dig site. This will give depth and context when you see the artifacts in the exhibition.
The artifacts were amazingly well preserved (most are still intact), considering the civilisation existed over three thousand years ago. There's five exhibition halls. Started from top and make your way down. Exhibition halls one and two is on the second floor, third and four on the first floor while the "ground floor" contains hall 5, sovenir shop and the 4D cinema.
JinSha is an important part in China's history, therefore a must for all chinese history buffs. The 4D clip was quite cheesy but is very entertaining (cost 20RMB and lasts 15minutes).
Definitely worth the visit if you have half a day to spare in ChengDu.
