“Great views”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The villa itself is nothing much to look at (at least not if you are from a country where old buildings are present in abundance), and inside there are some more or less interesting old photos of historic Qingdao.
However, the view from the top of the villa is stunning. Highly recommended just for that reason to pop in when you are in the area.

“Not kept up at all”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

Yes, it is nice to see the view from the top deck but otherwise there is nothing here.

The house is only about 85 years old but it has not been kept up at all. It should be restored and furnished to the period and then it would be a destination. Nothing educational about an empty house all painted over in bad white paint.

“Old German Style Caste”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

A cute castle style house on the ocean front in the old part of town. Costs 8RMB to get in, but is worth a short visit there and has a great 180 degree view from the tower look out. Also a nice walk on either side of the beach in front.

“Interesting German "castle" overlooking beach”
Reviewed October 9, 2011

Another interesting German villa, built in the style of a castle. It overlooks the beach and has great views from the balconies. The entrance fee is 8.5 yuan. Much of the furniture has disappeared and it is a little shabby but it is fun to climb to the turret and generally get a sense of how grand it must have been once.

We took a taxi to the Badaguan area which has leafy streets and numerous villas, then walked downhill to the Huashi building. After that we walked on the beach which is just below the Huashi building. It was a pleasant and interesting way to relax and fill in a few hours.
