“Ordinary but OK”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

Strangely I was attracted by the name of this venue but the service and food was simply average. I ordered the chicken soup and this was pleasant but not special. The location is excellent however and the decor very nice.

“Good chicken soup and a great location”
Reviewed November 22, 2012 via mobile

Lily's is part of a new development in Qingdao which looks a lot like the hip and recently gentrified enclaves of many North American cities. Surrounded by many other cool bars, clubs and eateries, Lily's is in part elevated by its neighbours.

Even on a cold Thursday evening when other restos were empty, Lily's had a one hour wait, which tells you something about its popularity. As well as the need for a reservation.

The service wast terrible, just seemed on par with the generally disaffected attitude with which most servers in Qingdao appear to approach their work.

The food was decent. Tried the signature chicken soup, which tasted like good, traditional chicken soup. It wasnt bad but was disappointing for a headline dish. Braised cabbage and bacon with chilis was great. We had a soup dish which was surprisingly bland oven how flavourful Shandong food normally is.

Value was great, like many places in Qingdao. Worth eating at but not worth searching out.
