The bay has recently been landscaped with cycle and walking routes. Take a pick nick basket with you. WCs are spotted around the bay and kept clean with attendants. The area is very clean and tidy and a good family day out thoroughly recommended. Enjoy

Entrance into the villas themselves is either restricted or ticketed. We didn't actually get to enter the villas as there were long lines of tourists all waiting to enter the villas as well (we visited on a regular weekend). Otherwise the tree-lined streets surrounding the villas make for a nice respite and a pleasant walk. Be prepared to walk back into town too once you get to Badaguan as taxis are practically nonexistent.

The streets are named with Great Wall's barrier. The villas are very nice. There are many trees around. We had our lunch in one of the villas, which was designed by a Russian.

If you're going to visit, bring your walking legs! The streets are quite long and on a hill. The houses are also quite far apart from each other, so yes, lots of walking. The area is nice for strolling, very few cars and huge trees, but you don't get to see much of the houses. That was a bit disappointing.

We visited after walking from the Governor's guest house down along the coastline, so were quite tired by the time we reached this area. It was difficult to find a taxi, but there are lots of buses and we were able to figure it out with our map (it had the Chinese names of the streets). If you're heading to Le Meridien Hotel, take the 605 and get off at the Qingdao Library stop. It's only a block away from there.

It is really nice to be able in this part of the country to play on the beach, but beware... I strongly do not recommend entering the water due to the pollution and also the Jelly fishes all around.
