Form the top of the hill, you have a wonderful view of the whole of Jinan City. Inside there is also a large Buddha statute for pilgrims. Can be tiring to cover the whole area in 1 day by foot.

We visited on a weekend and it was rather crowded. We came in at the back entrance and it was a pleasant quiet climb up to the top where the views may have been spectacular if it was not for the smog. The climb down the other side to the temple was very busy. I am tempted to say ‘too busy’. The cave with the Thousand Buddhas was very interesting (at first). The cave was enormous – it seemed to go on and on but I guess it still stayed quite interesting up to the end. The walk round to the enormous golden Buddha was nice and the Buddha itself was spectacular.

This is good weekday day out in Jinan. I am not sure that you need to climb to the top if you are not very fit.

I went at around end Feb, where plants are awakening from their sleep through winter. Along the way, there are numerous other attractions which one could visit - at an entrance price. Some are good, others are just ok. The peak has nothing more than a pavillion, and a guy offering phototaking service. On the way down, I passed by a Chimonanthus praecox garden - a yellow flower giving off a jasmine-like smell as it bloom. Other stops may include Ten-Thousands Buddha Cave, Kuan Yin Cave, Giant Mi-Le Buddha structure, etc.

Also a great thing to do in a group. Climb the mountain or shall i say walk the mountain loll, cause of the stairs. When on the top you have a great view of the city, esp at night when all the lights are on. Also good exercise

I went to see Qianfoshan at 5 am and it was worth the lack of sleep. There are beautiful statues and scenery. You can hike to the top of the mountain where there's a great view of the city and some local vendors. I hope I can see this again someday. This was the highlight of my trip to Jinan.
