“Baotu during New Years”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

I went here during Chinese New Year 2012 which is year of the dragon and this place was spectacular. Huge blow up lanterns everywhere, this place was so colorful and beautiful, it was amazing. I have not been here during the day, but I assume it is peaceful and nice. Many little spring lakes and this place is pretty large. Baotu springs is also near many eat streets and other places to visit. It does cost money though but worth it,

“There are more interesting springs in Jinan”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

The crowds that flock here detract from this and I much preferred the canal side walk (Heihu -Black Tiger Springs) which takes in various smaller springs along the canal side paths. But if you are in the Baotu neighbourhood you should visit the nearby Muslim area and mosque as well as the small Guandi Temple which is just west of the entrance. If you are travelling on a budget however forgo this place with its 40rmb entry fee and head to the quieter pearl Spring ( Zhenju Quan) and the Hei hu spring - both of which are free.

“Stunning natural beauty”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

It is highly unusual to find a botanical garden, natural springs, koi ponds, and a seal all in the same place, but here you can do just that. The drawback is that the place is very crowded. If the population density were at 50% of actual, this would be a much better experience.

“A charming place to stroll”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

While I think the entry fee for this simple spring (40 rmb - just like the more extensive and majestic Prince Gong's Mansion in Beijing) is steep, Baotu Springs is a lovely place to stroll. There are buildings with small exhibits and occasional performances. A nice place when the weather's good.

“Baotu Spring”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

I had been here twice. During winter time at Year 2009 and Spring at Year 2012. It is a nice place to relax, go there with some tidbits and enjoy the scenery there.
