“Symbolic Historical Sight !”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

If you are a history lover, this is one of the place to go. LVShun Prison Site post is the same as this. The entree fee is free. No charges. During winter, the route is shorter compare to summer as the guide was saying other sessions of the prison is very cold. The guide took you a walkthrough of the prison. No explanation from them. Just walkthrough. You will pass the prison cells, changing room, hanging room, where they work as labor, medical room, torture room etc. They are some historical facts printed on the walls are cruel these inmates being treated. Takes about 20 - 30 minutes tour.

“Impressive”

If you like history, you will not skip this visit.
The memories of war are never a nice experience but you can learn so much from this visit, from the history of this town and from how it became the city it is today, flamboyant and ready for the future that a little moral pain will not hurt you.
Definitely a must.

“Historic”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

If you are Chinese you should find this interesting . Unlike the west historic sites are made very interesting to visit not so in Chine. Even so of the most popular attractions are not well maintained and may even seem a little hoki, that's just China.

“Very interesting”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

Used from 1890's to 1945 so reminiscent of Nazi-type prisons.
Russian part looks very Russian, Japanese added newer sections. If you like history, this is good to see. We did not think we would be interested in something depressing, yet this turned out to be an OK sightseeing trip

If you are interested in the local history, the prison is well worth a visit. It is not very expensive to get there from Dalian in a taxi about £15 and there are English translations around the prison.
