I was four times in Wuxi Idea Hotel now, last time in March 2018.
The service is relatively poor, stuff is friendly but with low english language skills.
The rooms are from average standard, cleanliness is ok, but e.g. in my last room the safe did not work. Last room was called "non-smoking" room, but I found an ashtray inside. Rooms are all smelling bad.
There is no SPA. Even so since October the official version is "temporarily under redecoration", stuff told me,there is no SPA. Swimming pool opening times are short and are absolutely not suitable for Business travelers. Also, there are no bathrobes in the rooms.
Only one Restaurant with low variety in meals for breakfast.
Location is far outside any city centers but near industrial area, after 9pm there is nothing to find around anymore. One advantage: Subway station is nearby.
Summary: it is ok for one or two nights, but for longer stay not acceptable

Room Tip: room quality is best in highest floor and poorest in ground floor.

Staying here some time and so far so good very well appointed hotel. Very clean, rooms spacious and well equipped. Working WiFi in every room. Restaurant has a selection of European and Chinese menus, great food at reasonable prices for such a top notch hotel. It realy is a five star hotel, not very central but the centre only 15 mins taxi away. As for English speakers, the desk staff are fluent with the restaurant staff having some basic understanding, adds to the charm of being in a foreign country. Well appointed gym and swimming pool. Fantastic gardens to walk around.

Would highly recommend.

I have now stayed at this hotel three times because it is close to our office in Wuxi. I have got to stop doing it.

The staff speak very little English, which is not their fault but doesn't help the experience. The rooms are ok size-wise and seem clean, but non-smoking rooms still all smell of smoke. If your room gets warm, you have to open the window and get smog air in.

The restaurant is not great for Westerners - breakfast buffet goes down well with the Chinese visitors, but I don't eat Lo Mein for breakfast often, not fish ball curry or Chicken and Mushroom stew. The roast potatoes, baked beans, and chicken sausage are inevitably cold, and the bread is like cardboard. The boiled eggs are good.

Dinner doesn't get much better. Room service even more limited. No snack bar or drinks in room. WiFi deathly slow and bandwidth busted after 4pm.

Not convenient location for downtown (good 20 minutes away), nor for Wuxi airport. I'd recommend the Sheraton at Wanda Plaza, the Nikko Hotel (decent restaurants next door), or the Hubin if you want to pay a little more.

Stayed here 3 nights. Should have left after the first. Only stayed as its close to where I needed to be.
Staff are rude and unable to speak English. When you do find someone who can, it is minimal.
Trying to order room service is a joke. When it arrives it's a surprise what you're getting. Meal arrived with raw burger. Raw mince on a bun. Complained and they took it away. Burger cooked and put back on bun with bits of raw mince and brought back to me. Complete with stone cold fries. Still half raw but too over it to complain again.
Bathroom dirty. Brown marks on the wall next to the toilet, cobwebs clearly visible, mould in the shower.
Wifi easy to connect to but slow
Bed comfortable and hotel is quiet, the poor service and dirty bathroom puts me off though

I recently spent 3 days at the Wuxi Idea Hotel and I found it very good overall. The location was convenient to my site of business, but may be too far outside of downtown Wuxi for many. It is just across the street from the convention center in a growing part of town.
The hotel is modern, clean, and offered a pleasant stay. The hotel restaurant offers an extensive breakfast which features both western and Chinese favorites. My only complaint is that the WiFi is slower than in most hotels.
