The hotel was a delight, very attractively built and decorated in traditional style, with garden courtyards. The room we had was very clean and well presented. The location is convenient, within walking distance of the most significant World Heritage Gardens. Staff were pleasant and helpful; those on the desk have sufficient English, and our more complicated enquiries were dealt with by the manager who had good English. The room price was exceptionally good value, but watch out for the cost of extras: breakfast was not included in the price; the laundry was too expensive and our clothes were not ironed. Nevertheless we would thoroughly recommend this hotel to other visitors.

The hotel is located in the very city center, besides the shopping district and within short distance of all attractions.
There is a parking area dedicated to hotel guests.
The hotel is nicely decorated and well maintained. It is build in a way of a traditional Suzhou garden with actual gardens in the center.
Amenities are good for a 3stars hotel.
Some rooms are not often used and are smelling like very humid. One aisle of the hotel (north) is much better with all rooms being very quiet and with no unpleasant smell ! In that aisle, ground floor rooms open onto semi private yards, which is really delightful.
Don't expect too much of the buffet breakfast which is offering a selection more suitable for Chinese guests.

We booked only one night at the hotel, but after seeing the room and when we found out, that staff speaks pretty good english, we book second night as well.
Very beautifull, great location, clean rooms. Very happy and very satisfied for the price we paid!

My title says it all....but in the city of gardens, it is nice to have a hotel that has gardens! We were very happy to have a hotel within walking distance of a delightful market and temples. We also walked to where there were canals...which we strolled alongside of to get to the museum. Richaws were aplenty in case we needed a rest. For the longer excursions the hotel found us taxis.

And then in the evening, after a day moving around the city, how nice it was to see the beautiful courtyard gardens lit up and filled with music. There were ladies playing traditional chinese instruments.

The cons: sometimes the reception staff were a little rude. They were very professional, but maybe they had to deal with too many annoying guests? Also, the original room I was put into did not have a great view. I complained, and was upgraded (I think) to a room which was much better.

I recommend this hotel. It was traditional and complimented our journey into the garden city of Suzhou.

Room Tip: A room with a garden view is best.

I spent 4 nights at this hotel, travelling for business. The location was convenient in the sense you could take a walk to do shopping or dining out, otherwise the hotel was I guess OK, but more in the Asian local standards. Some Asian hotels are very fancy, but this was moderate with quite dirty rooms. I would call this a local hotel, not up to international hotel standards but not a bad one either. Service is not very friendly but at least I got to sleep there, unlike somewhere else :)

Moderate, our price through local agent was quite high for this hotel.
