We have lived in Suzhou for about a year now and have seen this place many times around town. They have locations at both Times Square and INCity shopping mall. Based on the name and design, I had assumed they were serving western food at first, but upon recommendations from friends, we took a large group here and discovered that this is one of the better places in town for Chinese food.
There is a massive waiting area since the restaurant is typically packed, so I would reserve a table if you can. The decor and atmosphere is nice enough - definitely good for a big group of friends or family.
Grandma's Home has one of the largest menus I've ever seen. You'd have to be crazy not to enjoy at least something, but it's difficult to choose and recently they changed the menu and do not provide an English version anymore. Still, if you are adventurous just pick some random things from the different sections and see what you get. We did that with about 7 dishes and all were fabulous. The service was super fast and the prices are extremely reasonable. Six of us ate for less than 300 RMB (~50 USD), even with a few beers.
