“Good Indian cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

On Saturday, with one kid and an infant. Ordered Butter chicken masala and chicken hariyali Kabab. Both main dishes are great!! For Nann, I recommend u try garlic and onion Nann, but not cheese Nann. Oh, I saw there were water-cigarette on every table, so I don't recommend you to visit there on night time with kids. Plus, great view of Jinji lake.

“Could be great...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

This place has a lot of potential; however, it has been open since about 2010 and not much has changed aside from the wait/serving staff.

The decor in the Nepalese Jazz Bar and upstairs restaurant is fantastic, but it's a shame that the lights are too bright and that they choose to play pop music! Otherwise the atmosphere would be spot on.

The food is decidedly average here, with a few standouts like the lamb curry.

The table service staff are not very attentive or well-trained, nor do they seem to be prepared for holiday crowds. We have been, on a few different occasions, ignored, rudely turned away, or forgotten.

Why keep coming back then, you ask?

The beer selection is the most extensive in Suzhou. The lengthy beer list favors Belgian styles but there is certainly something for everyone here. As other reviewers have noted, you will pay a premium - most imported bottles at Ganesh are upwards of 50 yuan. Unfortunately, many of the bottled beers are not poured properly (and perhaps not stored properly) and lack their normal carbonation. Draft beer is probably the way to go.

Come springtime, Ganesh is a great place to while away an afternoon. The outdoor seating offers one of the nicest views of Suzhou's Jinji Lake.

“good, fun”

great selection of beers, fun surroundings, help could use a bit more of English speaking practice. Make sure you're clear on what you want before it arrives. That might reduce the surprises when you get your meal.

“It's OK. I don't think you'll be dissapointed”

I eat at this restaurant about 3 times a month. It has a nice atmosphere and is close to Jin Ji hu
at moon harbor. If you get there around 5:30 seating isn't a problem but the place fills up pretty fast. I like it because of it's proximity to the theaters at the cultural center. Once a week is enough Indian food for me!

“Good Indian Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

I'll make this easy to read.
Pros:
-Flavorful curry dishes. The heat of the lamb curry is very addictive. Along with the cheese curry, which had a bit of sweetness, and they pair nicely.
-Naan variety: We had two each garlic and cheese naan
-Beer offerings: If one can't find what they want then they're straight-up picky
-Location: Next to Jin Ji Lake and hotels

Cons:
-It can get quite busy (we arrived at around 7:30pm) so we had a few drinks at the bar.

Other:
Some have said the prices are a bit high, but one needs a benchmark. Prices are less than or on par with some of the non-buffet restaurants in the U.S.
