Except for road works going on right now in the area, it is a good location for both business and leisure. Easy access to airport, train station, shopping, entertainment and river bank attractions. It has arguably the best lobby bar which is good for quiet chats and relaxation. Breakfast spread is a good mix of east-west fares.

Had a wonderful stay on a recent business trip to Wuhan and very much enjoyed my Shangri-La experience. The attentiveness of the hotel staff who remembered my name throughout was of particular note. Food choice was good in the cafe and room comfortable with decent and free wifi. Good value for money in my case too!

This Hotel is 5 star hotel in Wuhan and the room and service are laxualy.
In the Hotel, you can enjoy Spa/SportsGym.There are some kind of restaurant.
Chinese food , Japanese food , Western food.
I tried all restaurant. It is better to choose Chinese restaurant if you take the dinner in this
hotel. (Japanese and Western restaurans' taste is under middle level)

First, this property cannot be compared to the usual Shangri la hotels you may find in other cities as a few things are not at the same level. For instance, the coffee shop food and service is quite average and it may even be bad since while having dinner nobody will come ever to your table to offer you to refill your water. Breakfast selection is also not so impressive.

Besides that I encounter a few minor issues in the 2 days spent there, but at the same time the way all the staff react every time I got some problem was quite outstanding, so at least in this field, staff attitude, this property lived to its reputation.

Around the hotel there is nothing interesting, except you may want to get something from a small supermarket near the hotel (turn right after leaving the Hotel and once you are in the main street).

For short stays it may be a good choice, especially if you have to take a train at Hankou railway station as the hotel is just 15 to 20 minutes by car to the station.

Allthough not the newest hotel the rooms and facilities are in good condition and well maintained. Staff is friendly and well trained. Almost everybody speaks reasonable English. Breakfast is good but not great.
There is not much to do /see around the hotel, location could be better.

What a nice oasis to walk into the Wuhan Shangri-la and escape the smog and crowds and traffic of the city.
The over-size lobby is typical of Shangri-la's - with beautiful decor, art, and floral arrangements.
The lobby bar is comfortable and large enough that you are not crowded beside a convention group but rather lots of quiet areas to enjoy. In China where the culture is not necessarily based on six star service, the Shangri la has trained their staff in China to be gracious, attentive and they truly take pride in their work to serve you.
The rooms are elegant, as expected, with all the comforts the Shangri la chain is known for.
Very comfortable beds and bedding and oversize bathrooms make you stay, short or long, comfortable.
We went to the buffet dinner but it was close to closing time so the selection was a bit spotty and some items a bit dried out, but, they were still doing ala-minute noodle soups and italian pastas. I felt if we were a couple hours earlier the food would have been better than it was.
