We stayed for 3 nights during a Business trip. The recent renewed 18th floor was ok and the room was confortable. There was a refurbishment being done at the lobby but it was no big deal.

The breakfast had more asian alternatives but western choices were there too and was acceptable.

The staff was friendly but to communicate with them was hard as their English could be better.

Staying at the Executive floors give you some free laundry, drinks and advantages. Definitelly worths it as you get the extra money you pay refunded.

Good luck catching taxis in Wuhan. From the hotel is not a big deal but in the return way it gets a little bit difficult as the taxi drivers could be selective.

Spent two nights here (one unscheduled) arriving after 2 nights on the sacred chinese mountains (beautiful) but in a horrible dirty hotel (more a hovel). Hence arriving a day early and spending an extra night.
their booking system meant i could add an extra night to my booking while travelling and making sure i had a bed for the night as i was arriving late.
the room was large, the bed linens heaven, in pure egyptian cotton. i still dream of them!! the bathroom was big enough to have a bath tab and was full of smellies and fluffy cotton towels. The recipe to recover from the hovel I spend the two previous nights.
Excellent!!

Room Tip: get a room with view of the river if you can

Wuhan is wellknown for terrible pollution, smog and more smog. This hotel complements the Wuhan atmosphere. Filthy, bad service, lack of decent restaurants, it was a bad experience overall.
Extremely old fashioned, totally out of the way and not worth staying at for the river view..

Avoided the restaurants in the hotel. The buffet in the garden included insects on the food. Breakfast was okay but very skeptical about the cleanliness of the restaurant.

If you want to experience the realities of Central China, the holiday Inn is the best out of the bunch.

I stayed two nights in the Holiday Inn for Business. The room rate was very good, especially as I had a corporate rate from our business partners. The room size was very good, typically Asian Holiday Inn style and the overall impression was very good. Service was very good and nearly all personnel speaks, or at least understands English.
The hotel is located directly at the riverside (well, probably there comes the name from...) and you have good connections to the city center and the airport. The new exhibition center is as well very close.

I stayed in July for three days for business. Was on the executive floor with access to the lounge. Room was updated so very clean and modern. Executive lounge had good service, fine coffee, better than average breakfast. Staff at reception and lounge were very helpful and arranged taxi for some sightseeing. Top marks for views of Yangtze river. There is a well designed walkway with easy access from hotel so easy to take a break from meetings. Would recommend and plan to return for both business and vacation.

Room Tip: request top floors, view of river

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Riverside 10 years ago and went back in July on a family trip. Not much has changed in 10 years! The carpets are old and worn, and the bathroom was in need of updating. The place just looked drab. There was no business center available. I had to sit at the assistant manager's desk to check my email. On the plus side, it is conveniently located, has nice restaurants and an Irish Pub where my kids enjoyed eating and playing foosball while the adults played darts!
