This hotel is somewhat centrally located depending upon what you want to do in Zhengzhou! It's very close to the Zhengzhou Museum and the Henan Provincial Library. it's also very close to the Zhengzhou People's Government complex and as such serves as a meeting place for officials. So it could be busy with a lot of people and cars coming in for functions.
Rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms and nice overhead showers. Beds are on the hard side for Westerners as this is the preference of most Chinese people. The heater was functioning great as I visited in November, at the beginning of the cold season. They clean the rooms daily.
Staff is very nice but most of them don't speak English so come prepared with your translator software on your smartphone handy if you don't speak Mandarin.
Breakfast is served from 7:00AM to 9:00AM but keep in mind that the location of the dining room could change in function of availability.
One word of caution: if you use wifi, be aware that wireless networks at this hotel are not secured as there are no passwords to authenticate you. A good VPN would come in handy!
All in all, if you are visiting ZZ, then, by all means, check this hotel out!

The Songshan Hotel is on its way to being a nice hotel. The rooms were nice but it seemed like whoever built it was in a rush. Little things like the sink faucet splashed you when you turned it on, the shower had no water pressure (which was disappointing because it looked like a really nice shower with a cool shower head) and there was a really strong sulfer odor. Breakfast was average. The staff were all very nice and the food at their restaurant was very good. Much like the rest of Zhengzhou, the hotel is a work in process and I can't wait to see its development and improvements in a year or so...

The rooms are clean and spacious---actually two rooms--bedroom and a little living room. The beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning works great.
Two drawbacks in the bathroom are that the shower stall leaks all over the floor and the hot and cold are reversed. Also, the maids give you one little roll of tp which runs out quickly. We had to ask for a roll at night. So, we ended up hiding our leftover roll so they would leave another in the morning!

This hotel is an excellent choice for comfort and economy. Large clean rooms, central location, and great food selections, make this my first choice.
I will stay here on my next visit.
Breakfast is great.
