To be honest I can't see that this is an attraction as such. Saying that it's a decent place to find somewhere to eat as a tourist and it's easy to walk down because there's no traffic. Maybe more interesting in the summer but just a street as far as I saw.

Has a great collection of buildings and eateries. Visited it during its peek winter , where temperatures were around -44. There were tons of ice sculptures and even Mr.Gangnam
style statue as well. It was great fun to visit this place with tons of places to visit near it. Lively crowd all over the place.

Had breakfast here this morning then went for wonder down the street. Saw a long queue at one small booth and found they are lining up to buy ice cream! At minus 10C in the sunlight! But it must be good because the queue was ever forming.
Went to the "Russian Dept store" no Ruskis here all Chinese but great chintzy schmaltzy 60's souvenirs. I bought a Lenin Fob watch 35RMB and probably got shafted but it is only a memento so I don't mind. Also purchased a great desk clock, modeled on an old Russian WW2 plane called a Polikarpov (If my memory is right) and there are a great number of other cheesy items which I would have purchased if we had the room to take them back.
Goinbg back there tomorrow on our last day here which is a free day with naught else planned and looking forward to it

Lots of shops - you don't realize how big are some of them unless you enter and visit ever floor

Great for shopping dresses and jackets and shoes to keep you warm

Eating a ice Popsicle at -12 degree C was interesting, it would not melt!

Walking this road is an absolute must do for anyone visiting Harbin. We did it all 3 days that we were in Harbin. Our guide showed us the sights during the first day and after that we couldn't resist slipping out of our hotel at every opportunity we had to go enjoy the street culture. We ate Harbin sausage bought on the street as well as the frozen toffee hawthorn on a stick and of course the white ice cream. We had no idea what we were eating at the time but joined in on what all the locals seemed to enjoy. It was excellent! On the last day we spent every last yuan we had on eating what we will never be able to enjoy again. We stayed out for 20 to 30 minutes at a time and then would pop into a shop or mall to warm up. The Russian influences on the city are seen and heard everywhere, especially in the architecture. Music on the street gives a warm, inviting atmosphere. The Ice and snow sculptures were wonderful. We loved our visit to Harbin.
