We ventured out on our own the first night in Harbin and took a taxi over to the park. We expected an entrance fee but it was free. We arrived about 7:45 p.m. The slide castle was fun even for our American 12 and 14 year old daughters and so ward the very large ice maze, albeit easy.
Each ice sculpture was unique and fun to see. Wish we should have arrived a bit sooner as the lights all went out at 8:15.
In the back the was a stage made out of ice and an ice rink on what look like a pond. Pretty magical, although I see the complaint of other reviewers about the left down of done after the big show.
Worth a first night trip to get excited about day 2.More
