Amazing place to visit and a must when in Harbin. Was amazed at the sheer magnitude of the sculptures here and how the whole place made me feel as if I am on north pole. Biting cold at -18 here but worth it and felt like winter fairy-tale. Kudos to the whole concept and hard work behind this. In the evening once the lights are up its scintillating and beautiful. There are few free slides if you are interested. Food and coffee is available in few Igloo style restaurants.

A really cool (literally) experience for our family. The kids loved sliding down the ice slides. Bring a garbage bag or sheet of cardboard with you to make the experience even better. Has a KFC and a few snack shops inside. Go around 4pm so you can see the festival during the day and at night. Wear non-skid shoes- many places are very slippery.

Great English speaking Driver for Harbin area: Joe 18646543552. Call ahead and he will even pick you up at airport. Has great recommendations as well.

Very impressive, though area perhaps smaller than I'd imagined (snow sculpture park much larger). Actually compact area. Worth going both during the day and especially at night. Ticket prices high, but certainly a LARGE number of mainland Chinese feel price is worth it (Harbin locals pay a much reduced fee). Take the afternoon ticket option, which gives you access from something like 13:30 to 21:00. As with any amusement park, refreshments inside VERY expensive. Took dedicated public bus from just off walking street to and from, though Chinese "queuing" something to be experienced (did have guards to ensure queuing order on return trip). 2 rmb each way per person. Bought tickets at location, though they were also offered on bus (concerned about counterfeit, but it was the same vendor on another trip to the snow park). Queuing for tickets at venue seems to be "typical" Chinese, so rugby scrum training comes in handy. Just part of the experience.

If something were to be the highlight of our trip, this is definitely it! Even though the entrance ticket is high, around 300 RMB per person (we got 150 each for being a student in China), it was worth the price. Amazing buildings and sculptures made of ice and snow were all inside, such as Disney castles or particular buildings of some countries such as Chinese and Japanese temples, the colosseum, and so on and so forth.. There were also some indoor and outdoor shows and slides made of ice. Try to find the longest and tallest slide, it is usually crowded and I had to wait 2 hours for it, but if you can bear with the cold it was quite amazing. You have to absolutely cover yourself especially your feet for it is really really really cold there. There are some small shops that you can enter to heat your body, but some of them require you to buy something and it's not cheap.

Over the top! This is somethng you must see. The evining is more fun, altough daytime is not bad either and a lot more quiet. Plenty of iceslides and at 18.30 there is a show at the end of festival. T;'s no problem to get transport back to town if your willing to pay extra for the taxi or stand in line the bus.
