This is indeed the largest ice sculpture exhibition in the world, worth braving the -30 degree Celsius cold to see. The ice sculptures are mostly of life sized buildings and beautifully lit up. It was extremely cold though, so do go prepared with extra camera batteries, transport back to the hotel and keep warm!

It was a great experience to see all the structures built from ice. The lighting also made it very impressive. We thought it would be very cold, but with adrenalin running, and also enjoying some of the slides, time past very quickly and did not feel cold at all.... but we were well prepared.

This was a really impressive display of ice carving and the scale of the festival is immense, with massive buildings and sculptures. Fairly easy to get to, most hotels offer a taxi service there.
The only negative point was the dancing bear, which was cruel and immoral. The 5 stars was reduced to 4 stars because of that.

Yes, you should definitely go to this! Bundle up and go at night because it is a wonderland. Absolutely one of the most beautiful and interesting things I have seen! Wear non-slip boots, because it is a complete world made of ice with multicolored lights. The slides are fun, exploring is fun, and there are interesting things to find. They have little indoor stations where you can buy hot drinks and food. Not sure if the refreshments were expensive but I expect they were (I didn't pay).

The bathrooms were disgusting and outside of the attraction. Absolutely disgusting.

My only concern was the use of animals! I am all for having animals to pet and such, but it was obvious that some of these animals were ill-treated. I'm talking mostly about the arctic foxes. You have the option to hold one of them for a fee. However, at one point one of the foxes was on a booth. I walked up to it and watched it for a bit, but as soon as I made to pet it it leaped back and cringed in the corner, its ears flat and eyes wide. I'm an animal behaviorist focused on canines, but you don't need science to see that the animal was terrified. Later, I saw the people that worked with them carting them away in tiny wire cages.

I don't know anything about the yaks or the horses because it cost to get near the yaks and the horses were pulling carriages.

Anyway, I'd definitely suggest going to this! Just don't pay to hold the foxes!

Totally world of ice. It's a really nice place just be sure that you're totally geared up. Better to wear footwear that is not slippery because you would be walking on ice.
The place is very beautiful. Go there at night time, they created a great combination of ice and lights which could be best appreciated when its dark.
When it is too cold for you to walk around, you could hire a horse cart. You only pay one time and you could stop anywhere and hop on to any other carts as long as you have the ticket. Drivers would ask for tips but is not necessary.
