The hotel is quite new and very well maintained, wonderful areas and pools, almost deserted beach, the rooms are very clean spacious and in perfect condition as it should be in a hotel of such class.

Wonderful empty gym and a great spa. Irrespective of advice to book in advance, had no problems with booking during the entire 12 days stay.

The staff at the restaurants is unacceptable though, they are unable to answer any questions, you can wait for your food for 40 minutes and more and provided that the hotel is located outside of town (which is definite plus in all the other circumstances) that was quite a disappointment.

The MO Sanya truly offers a five star experience. The vast property is gorgeous, and every amenity you need is available. Sanya itself is nothing to rush to, but it is so easy to get to and so affordable for Asia... The MO makes up for whatever Sanya lacks.

What a gorgeous property! Rooms and villas of every type, in a park-like setting that makes each area feel completely secluded from the next. You needed only to push a button on your phone and a golf cart would arrive to transport you around the property. All of the details were right: A warm welcome with a lei of fresh flowers. Room equipped with a sun parasol placed by the front door. All food exquisite. Private porch with a view of the bay. Gardens galore. More swimming pools than I could count, with plenty of fresh towels laid out so you didn't need to cart them from your room. And on and on and on. I can't speak to the value for money, because my company was paying and I did not see the bill; however I would be more than happy to bring my husband back at my own expense - it was that good.

Second time to Sanya and decided to stay in this hotel because of the positive tripadvisor reviews. Not disappointed at all. We love their pools! The food in FRESH was a surprise. Breakfast was like a full buffet! The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. Things which can improve: speed of check-in, not enough staff at breakfast area to clean the tables and refill water and English of staff could be improved.

I have done a lot of hotel research prior to coming especially since I am typically a loyal guest of two other main hotel chains (I travel a lot). I know that there are a few other good alternatives that are slightly cheaper (InterContinental, Ritz-Carlton) but I trusted a recommendation of a friend who visited the property and the wonderful reviews here on TripAdvisor. Boy, AM I HAPPY that I did that! I assure you that this hotel & the overall experience is worth every penny (and paying a slight premium for it). The resort is absolutely beautiful - while Sanya is OK (there are other spectacular places in Asia), Mandarin really creates a little paradise world that you never want to leave, the property is absolutely gorgeous. What made our stay an exceptional experience (beyond its beautiful property itself) is the exceptional staff, friendly and thoughtful, with highest attention to detail, which is so rare to find! Staff members make the effort to not only remember you by name, but follow through and inquire about your activities for the day, solve any problems, do anything with a smile, it really feels like home and that you are always in good hands.

What I didn't know prior to coming (and soon discovered) is that the hotel provides a free shuttle to downtown every hour from 2-5, and its a lot of fun to explore "downtown" for a change of pace. Stop #2 (Summer Mall) is particularly fun with good local restaurants & shops. Its a fun brief escape from the beautiful paradise of Mandarin Oriental. Another neat thing that we discovered is the activities that the hotel offers to its guests, such as cooking and massage classes - they are a lot of fun but we've noticed that too few people attend them. One downside is that the beach is a bit rocky but we heard that many beaches in Sanya are such because of the corals that can't be altered. Anyone considering visiting Sanya, I really hope you stay here!

Awesome place for pampering yourself, friends, and family. Attentive staff, great food, great rooms.... overall an excellent and relaxing stay. Make sure you check out the spa -- it was oh so awesome! The pools are great too. And don't forget to try out the sunset(?) bar? It's got excellent views.

No complaints.
