“Not too shabby.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

Well, after reading a "terrible" review, I was hesitant about coming here... but it was getting late and we had the rumblings in our tumblings. The interior design attempts to be artsy but it looks cheap and overdone. Even though the bad review complained about the Chicken Curry, the girlfriend decided to get it anyways. I decided to be boring and get the Pork Curry. Both where pretty good, nothing to complain about. Nothing spectacular, but the value was there. The service was extremely slow as per usual.

Their music play list must have been by artist, since there was about 5 Katy Perry songs followed by 3-4 Justin Beiber songs. Not a huge problem for me but that's a fail.

“A bad meal to remember”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

The menu is full of pictures that have nothing to do with the food we were served. It took 15 minutes to get a couple of bottles of beer. 40 minutes for a egg and ham sandwich with so few chips one could count them - and that was after asking for a large portion. My guests all ordered different dishes. No one liked the food. The chicken curry was the best collection of chicken fat and skin. Chicken meat, we were told, is not included in a chicken curry. Complaining - we were given RMB 18 discount on a bill of RMB 430.

The staff - non could smile. Clearly, this is not a happy place to work, or maybe the staff had to eat the same awful food.

“Amazing for Sanya.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

This would be a good restaurant anywhere, but for Sanya it is exceptional. The prices are much more reasonable than any of the resorts and the selection and quality of the food was beyond expectation, even better than Casa Mia, which is one or two spots over and upstairs in the same complex. We had French onion soup, Vietnamese spring rolls, seafood spaghetti and lamb chops, and we wouldn't hesitate to order any of those dishes again. The lamb was very good although the sauce (served on the side) might be a bit to spicy for some, but was perfect for me. My gf's pasta had a buttery cream sauce. The French onion soup didn't have much bread or cheese on it but the broth was rich and delicious. The spring rolls, which we ordered because they were out of the baked mushroom appetizer, were fresh and crispy. My only complaint is that the first dish out was the lamb, followed by the spaghetti, followed by the soup and then finally the spring rolls. Some how my lamb never made it onto the bill and when I pointed it out to the manager, he insisted the bill was correct, so it ended up being rediculously cheap for us to eat there, especially since neither of us drink. There is a busy road between The restaurants and the beach, but some trees had been cleared so there is a bit of a view, unlike Casa Mia. Also, calling it french is a bit misleading... The menu is much more international.

“Pleasantly surprised, good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2012

Was expecting it to be the usual western style restaurant but was nicely surprised by the whole experience.
Nice staff, pretty well trained and a good grasp of English.
All sorts on the menu, had some noodles and satay pork, both good.
Deal on with beer and bbq, nice chicken skewers.
Inside decor interesting, good for a big group.

Overall clean, good service and good food.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2012

I took me 2 hours to get there. But i wanted so much to have a nice dinner by the beach, as i read former writing on tripadvisor.

In fact it is in front of the beach, but in between one's forget to add there is a 4 ways road street, and i tell you it's a very noisy street, full of cars driving fast. Arriving at the restauranta, the so-called "french cuisine" was in fact as told by the waiter, singaporian cuisine. It looks a mix of any kind of easy food you can find on the tourists beach anywhere else in Asia, and the prices, are taken from a five stars hotel restaurant. So after 10 minutes of reflexion, i headed up next door to the Casa Mia restaurant just on the terrace upstairs, still following tripadvisor advice. And this time not disappointed, see my notes on Casa Mia.
