From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The purpose of our trip was to relax for 5 nights and despite 2 1/2 days of rain we thoroughly all aspects of the resort. We had a suite on level 7 of the resort and could not fault it. The room was huge and the stand alone bath made my partner very happy. We tried all the restaurant options and they did not disappoint. At no point did I struggle to find something to eat as the variety was great. That being said, Chinese in Star Anise and the seafood in Star Bar were highlights. All the breakfast and dinner buffets also offered great value and plenty of variety too. The resort has a great spa, the best entertainment area I have seen in a resort with a bowling alley, a small movie cinema and lots of entertainment options. The staff definitely make this resort from the GM through to the staff at the bar in Happy Hour, everyone was accommodating and looking to chat. If you need anything, chat with Justin at Concierge or Molly in Front Office who made a trip that much better. All in all, a great experience and I will be back.

Room Tip: Best to organise a transfer with the hotel before you arrive.

The infrastructure is great, not doubt about it. However, be careful not to raise your bar too high when coming here. The staff are trained according to SOP and that's it, don't expect too much. We were at the breakfast buffet for two days and both days some Mainland Chinese took our seat when we were away with our dishes. We had to wait and be moved to other seats while the "seat robbers" simply sat there and kept on eating. Quite a disappointment when the hotel is designed so nicely. If only the staff were trained and the hotel managed up to standard. Will not come here again.

We will never forget our stay at this amazing new Hotel.
Not only is it visually beautiful but it has incredably thoughtful facilities. I suggest you go find them for yourself!
The Restaurants were so varied and delicious we didn't feel the need to venture off site which is very unusual for us.
The Hotels main asset however has to be the folk who looked after us. From The Gardeners to the GM we were treated like honored house guests.
Thank You and keep up the good work!

Room Tip: The Villas are incredable.

This was our second visit to the Renaissance Sanya Resort and Spa and it is even better than the first time. We stayed inone of thes villa which had its own very private warm swimming pool, two luxury bedrooms, spa baths, and a huge lounge/sitting area. For two families it would be the ultimate holiday in a resort which has really taken off. We chose Sanya as the last leg of a round the world holiday and it was by far the best hotel we stayed at . The food at this resort is an experience in itself. The Star Anise is the signature Chinese restaurant with dining areas set out over the vast swimming pool area. The Starfish market was the pick for us with a varity of seafood platters including lobster, giant prawns and even Australian oysters. Breakfast is another wow, especially the bakery section. Just look for Chef Bruce. He is a gem.

We were blown away by the accommodation, the facilities and especially the food. The Wasabi prawns in the Star Anise were the best ever, but also loved the Haitang Platter in Star Fish Market, New Zealand icecream in the Candy Bar, and everything in the Breakfast Buffet and Asian Buffet Night. Loved the sea breeze in the day bed cabanas, the opulent open air lobby and especially the friendly, smiling staff. Top marks all round!

We wanted to have rest short rest by the seaside near where we live in China.
Sanya was the best option and Renaissance was a positive discovery.
Facilities are very new, confortable rooms, enormous swimming pool, and the best was the beach and the sea. The resort is in Haitang bay where new developments are taking place a little bit far from the city but we didnt need at all to go anywhere except the swimming either in the pool or in the sea.
Our three year old daughter enjoyed the sea and playing on the sand as never before.

We have stayed in this hotel in early August for about a week. Despite one minor 'glitch' at the start where we booked the hotel shuttle bus in advance but - due to some additional time required at customs for checking our passports - it departed without waiting for us, we had a very good time!

The hotel has indeed one of the largest swimming pools we have ever seen in Asia: in total about 4-5 pools that are connected. What is especially nice is an area where there is a small 'beach' created in one of the pools where small children can play with sand and parents can swim nearby as well without loosing sight of the children.

Another big plus of the hotel is the indoor playground with 5-6 connecting rooms, a truckload of toys and games, arts & crafts and cartoons - supervised by a group of nice young ladies.

Breakfast is very good as well with a wide selection of different types of food on 6-7 stations. For dinner options see the rest of the reviews, we mainly ate at the western restaurant and visited the chinese restaurant once. Hence plenty of choices for dinner as well.

The private beach is nearby with plenty of options to sit, lie down and relax.

It's not really worth taking the shuttle bus to Sanya; it stops at a commercial mall with designer brands and a small supermarket.

Overall: very nice, new hotel. Large rooms with good facitilies. Excellent for kids !

Room Tip: Nice view across the hotel in Block B on the 7th floor. Short walk from the main lobby (2-3 minutes)
