“Beautiful long beach”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

The bay is 22 km long with white sandy beaches as home for both local and tourist who loves being under the sun. The access is great, lots of parking spaces and they are clean. It seemed that certain areas are designed lovers, the other for family and those who wish to have extra fun from playing a kite, ball, Frisbee and the list goes on. You can get food and drink within walk distance and is affordable. I fell asleep for minutes on the long chair since it was so relaxing without doubt in safety. I was feeling like at home and thanks to the surrounding local for being such friendly to us.

“The farther, the better”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

The downtown part has been pulluted with too many people. Swimming doesn't give you a lot of good experience. The area close to the airport is a lot better. Still not clear though. Winter time is good with warm sun and crabs clowing.

“Sanya Bay”
Reviewed May 1, 2012

Contrary to popular opinion, we loved this Bay. It's local in the sense that there are more Chinese people than foreigners. The traffic is a little on the noisy side because the drivers feel the need to sound their horns if they spot anything within 500 metres ahead or to the sides.. In particular the bus horns are strident and unpleasant however, once on the beach, which is long, sandy and uncluttered with deckchairs or other apparently necessary accoutrement of Yalong Bay, the noise fades and you can enjoy the gentle tide and warm water.
There are little shops and restaurants all the way along the south eastern end towards the docks which are cheap and good - not much English is spoken but people are helpful and friendly.
You can walk along a path between coconut palms for several kilometres if you fancy just ambling along and enjoying the local colour - you'll be stared at if you don't look Asian but if smile and say "Ni hao" people will smile back and greet you.
There're evening dance / exercise groups of all types, fascinating to watch with lots of loyud music vying for your eardrums!
At the south eastern end, they're building a 7 star hotel complex and we hope that doesn't change the informal and slightly untouristy feeling of Sanya Bay.
