For a five star hotel and the price we paid, we were given a small room with a small washroom and without even a bathtub. No such thing as good will upgrade/change to one with at least a bath tub unlike our stay in Eaton Hotel of Hong Kong and Venetian Hotel of Macau. Also, a small gym with very limited equipment. Of the two treadmills, one was broken down somemore during our stay.

We have to say that we are very disappointed despite the good location and the clean room. Will definitely not choose this hotel during our next trip to Zhuhai.

Room fittings were 5 star standard. Service staff are polite and helpful. Great location if you are planning on visiting Macau also. At this price, it sure beats staying in some of these crappy hotels in Macau that charges twice the price for dingy rooms. If you like China type shopping, then this is the place for you. The seafood restaurant in the hotel is also good and reasonably price. The breakfast buffet that came with the room price was very good too. I particularly love the bacon as it was cooked individually on an open grill and comes out crispy without the oil.

The Zhuhai Charming Holiday Hotel is a good hotel, no doubt. But the best of it is its location, right off the Macao/Zhuhai boarder, right above the Gongbai shopping mall.

In case you don't speak Chinese you already will have a problem finding a taxi bringing you to any other hotel than the L'Hotel and Zhuhai Charming Holiday Hotel (both at the boarder station) because the taxi drivers will not understand 'Holiday Inn' or anything else. I already had thsi problem and therefore decided for the above. Crossing the boarder, a 3 minutes walk and you're there.

Now they do even have an English speaking Guest Relations Manager, so in case you're running into problems there's a way out.

The rooms are okay, offer a perfect view towards Macao and the sea.

The breakfast is really good, as long as you're okay with Chinese breakfast items (very good noodle soups with home-made noodles).

What I didn't like?
a) the bathroom is very open
b) there's no Club-Lounge. I took a room on the executive floor where you normally have Club-Lounge access. But at this hotel there's no such thing. Instead the mini-bar is free of charge, but it's nearly empty! Not even a Diet Coke in there.

It's time that in 2014 the new international hotels are opening up.

Room Tip: Take a Sea View room

Decent for business and perhaps for Macau trip.
Stayed here for business using the conference floors and top-floor dining spaces.
.

(Possible discomforts)
1) Ghetto-ish neighborhood (which should be OK if you are accustomed to China)
2) The restaurant on the 2nd or 3rd floor is extremely crowded during lunch time (perhaps due to limited restaurants choices in the area)

(Possible comforts)
1) Hotel is looking down the Macau custom clearance = the entrance to freedom!
2) Buffet restaurant on the top floor has a beautiful scene of ocean and the entrance to freedom (although you can see may structures being built around/in the ocean like any other Chinese cities)
3) If you choose a "ocean-view" room with approx 100RMB extra, then you can enjoy the sun-setting ocean view.
4) Conference floor was adjacent to the outdoor pool which provided a good "relaxing time" for my business guests.

Last but not least, the lady who was in charge of the "group conference stay" was very accomodating and professional.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean-view room

It is a relatively new hotel. Location is super convenient. Macau border within 200 meter, also connected by underground walkway. There is a big shopping place right underneath the hotel.
I've got myself a suite, it is very spacious.
The decoration in the room is superb, especially the bathroom and walk-in closet. I thought the minibar was meant for free use, but actually only for executive floors.
Went to the cafe for lunch, very much emptied and they had drilling works in the kitchen, couldn't even talk, how can this be allowed in a supposely 5-star?
The check-in lady was ice-cold, the check-out ladies were warm and friendly. Service level is unpredicable. Anyway, nice alternative to hotel in Macau, if you have quick border crossing access.

Room Tip: Get the room facing the border (or the sea view room) it is much better.

This hotel is stategicaly located in Zhuhai, walking distance from Gonbei customs.
Arrived as walk-in guest, get a very nice reception from perfectly speaking staff.
Rooms are very nice, confortable bedding, separation from bedroom with bathroom can look strange ( the door to close it is the door of the cupboard.) But not a big matter, because still looks harmonious. This is a big hotel, due to the location, so always expect to see people especially during weekends and Chinese holidays periods.
Bkfst is good, sad that they charge you expresso coffee on the side, which is normally included in bkfst in almost all hotels now a days. Restaurant also needs at least one people fluent in english,
This is my only negative point about this hotel.
In sum a good 4 stars for western standards.

Room Tip: Ask for seaview room.

Clean, modern, comfortable and everything works! After less than stellar stays at the Holiday Inn and Grand Bay View, found my home away from home in Zhuhai. Located right at the Macau border with huge underground mall at Gong Bei and lots of restaurants within walking distance. The western restaurant in the hotel has a great breakfast and good food for lunch and dinner. Night manager Evan Yang provided great customer service and the rest of the staff were helpful and attentive.
