Fort is small and difficult to find. Terrible lack of signposts and directions in chiwan. Showed authentic chinese history as the fort is 400 years old. Worth a look if you combine it with other things in chiwan. Old cannon and statue to view. Nice views from the hill

I liked this fort. It is small and not super easy to find, but it's cool. It's shady on the hill, so it isn't so bad walking up there from the chiwan metro.

Very small old fort on top of the Chiwan mountain/hill. Its kind of interesting but a very small attraction. Not much more than a small fort/house, a statue, and a canon. Views of the harbor aren't very good lots of trees in the way. You can walk from the Chiwan metro stop but I wouldn't stay here more than 30 minutes.

Located in the Chiwan area of the modern China city of Shenzhen. Built during the Qing Dynasty, the fort was used to protect the Pearl River from the British during the Opium War. This fort is also known as the "Left Fort". the right fort is long demolished. Not a whole lot left to see at this site. It sits upon a hill overlooking modern day container ships. There is an old cannon to look at along with glassed in remains of the old fort. A nice statue of Lin Zexu exists. He was in charge at one point in trying to curb the opium trade. It rained the day i went and the insects were eating us up. A few picnic tables were available. On a dry, clear day the views must be lovely. The fort is Free, parking available. soon the new metro system will have a stop walking distance away. Nothing great, but I enjoyed a little bit of history in the fast growing city of Shenzhen.
