“It's a wall”

For god's sake please remove this place from Tripadvisor!
It's a wall, that's it, the one you see on the picture and nothing else.
Once you pass the gate you are in a very common Chinese street market, even asking the locals in there nobody seems to recognize anything at all worth a visit.
Just wasted one hour of my time.

I was in the area and it was within walking distance. Glad I went very old architecture and streets. Nice museums. Very busy streets of traditional china. Good afternoon

Nice to see the old city gate. Many of the historic buildings have been demolished, but the hutong culture here is still thriving. We found a tasty Chongqing takeaway. This links to Zhongshan Park, which is great for a peaceful stroll, or check out the fairground.

This place is worth a visit if you like historical attractions. There is a nice little temple at the entrance near the pedestrian overpass. Walking up the street doesn't take long, but there are some preserved small buildings with some history you can tour. I believe one of them is a former opium den (I can't read Chinese, so I'm not sure) and a few other old style buildings. Go here in conjunction with visiting Zhongshan Park, they're very close together.
