Beautiful park loads to see. Plan your day as it too big to maybe see in one day. Worth going with friends family or solo. Another example of a beautiful shenzhen park

Fairy Lake Park is one of those places where you need 1. to make sure you have eaten enough to give you enough energy (blood sugar) to climb all those hills for miles and hours, and 2. to bring enough water to drink to hydrate yourself for the hours of walking. The park is situated against the highest peak of Shenzhen and is a multi functional botanical garden integrating scientific research, plant species collection and display as well as tourism with 7,800 species of plants.

The beautiful lake sits in a bowl of a valley at the bottom and you can rent boats there for fun. To get there, you first have to climb up the side of the hill, then down to the bottom where the lake is. This takes a long time to walk up the winding road, but you can also buy tickets for buses which will take you up there instead of walking yourself. Around the lake are concession stands for drinks and snacks but they are very expensive because they know they can get away with it. You can rent boats to peddle around in the lake and some boats have a fun swan design.

There is a petrified forest, some botanical green houses full of cacti, a Buddhist temple, a classical Chinese building and garden area around a small lake. 17 special gardens are featured in this entire area.

Expect to spend an entire afternoon at this park because you will walk for miles around the lake to check out different areas of interest. Afterwards at the bottom of the hill, at the entrance to the park, there are a number of buses which will take you back to metro stations.

Donghu Gongyuan is a nice park. It is huge and there is a lot to see. The alpine slide near the northern gate is fun and cheap. They also have some exotic birds near there and a little amusement park.

Weekends you can also see loads of chinese couples dressed up in brightly colored wedding garb taking pictures

East Lake Park is a small pleasant park outside Shenzhen with a few amusement rides and attractions.

We only stopped about 90 minutes which was enough to do all we wanted to do. There is a small selection of rides such as a Big Wheel, Spinning Coaster and a powered Dragon coaster. We also did the short haunted walk-through attraction and the Tagada, which is a large spinning tub where riders sit on the floor and bounce along with the movement of the ride...difficult to describe but huge fun!

The rides are paid for with tickets, and all rides are inexpensive by Western standards. Try the Pea Ice Cream from the little shop there...certainly very interesting!

Nearby there is a short alpine toboggan ride, which although an extra charge of 30 Yuan (around £3) was well worth doing. Close to the toboggan there are some cages with birds in (crowned cranes and other exotic birds). Probably not somewhere you would spend a half day, but a couple of hours would pass nicely at East lake Park.

A nice and quiet park, with lots of beautiful trees and plants. Suitable for children, as there is a large area with a tivoli like activities. In the middle of the park there is a restaurant serving seafood. This can be recommended as an excellent place. Recommended roasted sea perch.
The only thing we were disappointed in was that there was no possibility of being able to see the lake, it was closed on the grounds that it was drinking water.
