“A nice, quiet and courteous hotel.”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Just stayed here for about two weeks in a suite. Nice and clean rooms. Competitively priced. The hotel attendants are quite courteous and helpful. They helped me called the taxi and carried the luggage. Also provided power bars for free when I asked. No Wifi only wired Internet is provided. Not much selection for food in the restaurant as well. Other cons are that some air conditioners in the rooms were not working properly and they charged local phone calls.

I found this place at the last minute while researching a place to stay over Chinese New Year. While the rates were not bad, about 50$ a night, and the room overall was not too bad, there were several things I noticed. For the traveler that does not speak mandarin chinese, the hotel staff did not appear to know too much english. Secondly, and most importantly, the room we stayed in had an uneven step when going from the bathroom to the bed area. Though there was a yellow marker to indicate the uneven pavement in the room, at night time it would have been very easy to jam a toe or hurt yourself. I was amazed that at a minimum, there was not reflective tape or other warning to someone to pay attention.
The location was alright, nothing special. During the time I was there, the coffee shop was closed down, and there were very minimal amenities available.

The hotel is a great room for the price. We stayed on the 25th floor and it was nice as you can sleep wiht the curtains open and look at teh city lights.
The room was clean and comfortable with good bed and nice bathroom. The TV was ok but only 3 English channels.

The hotel staff were good at their English and the service was great.
I like the area the hotel is in as close to the subway for easy access to the theme parks. Lots of god fod and shopping around the hotel.

Room Tip: Take a high floor for a good view

NYHotel is in Nanshan area, western Shenzhen, many restaurants and stores just a few feet away. Close to Shenzhen Univ if you are visiting someone there. Relatively close to ferry to Hong Kong airport, farther from Luohu border crossing. Feels safe. 10 min walk to Taoyuan metro stop. 5 min to buses. Many cheap taxis or cheaper mo-peds (if you are adventurous) just outside hotel. We are staying in a one br apartment w/living room, study and kitchen. Refrig, hotplate, water boiler, cups, tea supplied, but no dishes or microwave. Bought a pot and bowls and made chicken soup a few times. Brought coffee and french press for morning java. Ground coffee very hard to find in China (instant available) and you have to go to McDonalds or few cafes to find a cup otherwise. Bathroom decent w/large walk-in shower. Nice closet. 2 tvs. Internet (we bought a wireless router). Nice bed. Daily maid service. Some English spoken at front desk, friendly staff. Spa (45y foot massage), outdoor pool (closed during winter), insufficient gym. Decent restaurant on 2nd floor. We are here for a few months so this is pretty good living for 250 yuan (approx $40). I think normal single or double rooms can be got for around 188 yuan ($30).

Room Tip: Get a Chinese reading friend to help you navigate website. Beware how you must pay. Make sure they...

I have stayed here twice for extended periods and would highly recommend this hotel. The lobby and guest rooms are spacious and well appointed; the pool is large and outdoors but closes early for the winter because it's too cold out (haha - not for us Canucks); the cleaning service is excellent. Rooms have comfortable firm beds, beautiful bedding, flat screen TVs but I never watched any TV, floor to ceiling windows, a mini-fridge, modern bathrooms, a safe for valuables, and full length mirrors. There is a breakfast buffet which even includes peanut butter and white bread for toasting, but mostly Chinese dishes for the mostly Chinese clients. We rarely saw Western people staying at the hotel and that was fine by us. The service is excellent and staff will provide power bars for computers for internet access, as well as extra blankets, pillows, etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing north towards the park. The sky is often smoggy but on clear days you get a g...
