“Huge rooms, comfortable stay, definitely come back”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

The room was big, clean, smoke free. Bed was comfortable and room quiet giving a good nights rest.
Buffet dinner was very good with large range of dishes including a fresh selection of meat and fish for grilling.
Breakfast had a large selection of local and western dishes.
A very good standard of service in the buffet restaurant.

This is a large hotel-mini resort campus in Homei/Dongguan area. Very compeititvely priced large hotel rooms with free internet and large writing tables. Coffee shop buffet breakfast has large selection of Chinese and basic Wester breakfast food. Chinese restaurant on premise is excellent except service can be slow. This is excellent value if you are in the Dongguan/Houje/Honmei area.

This is a really first class hotel on the surface. The public rooms are amazingly huge, the rooms are excellent and so comfortable. There are 3 restaurants all themed. One is Chinese and has fish tanks in one area with a massive range of fish. We were there during the river crab season but I tried one and didnt feel ok afterwards. Maybe it was because they didnt take it apart and I had to deal with this boiling hot thing myself with only scissors, a long tool and gloves! Strange - also off putting was the river mud on the claws, I didnt know if it was correct and found out the following day it wasnt hence I complained to the manager and received a bowl of fruit but no admission that what I said was true.

The Japanese restaurant was an amazing experience - we were taken there by a supplier and I imaging it was quite expensive by Chinese standards as all the ingredients are flown in. The lady chef produced an absolutely amazing array of japanese dishes all cooked directily in front of us. The cost I believe is 550 yen + service + drinks so approx 70 pounds per person.

There is also a western style restaurant with steak etc.

The hotel management obviously has a thing about costumes as there are so many different ones worn. Geisha in the Jap rest, stylised bell boys with tinkly little bells to announce transport, snow white with a basket for the foot therapy centre. and this is worth a go - you get to have your feet pummled and washed for more than an hour, however there is the feeling that more goes on than just foot massage here and I will tell you about that in a moment.

Breakfast is a whole array of food served buffet style with chefs to cook up various dishes however it is predominantly chinese which is just fine if you like noodles for breakfast. There were also some really repulsive looking eggs - all green and black which are apparantly soaked in horse urine - nice!

I did find however boiled eggs, toast, coffee and cereal which really is adequate.

The service here is excellent and everyone is very polite. My one concern though is that I would not like my boyfriend to have come here on his own as I now know there is a whole department at the hotel utilised to provide what is known here as VIP services. I came accross this as our supplier insisted that I have a full body massage in the health club. I was shown to a room with a huge double bed decorated with flowers and petals - the adjoining shower room was glassed so there was no privacy to shower and a sauna was also in the room. There are around 20 of these rooms available and although a massage is around 120 Y the use of the room is double that for VIP services. The masseurs wear neat costumes of trousers and jackets whilst the VIP service providers wear another uniform consisting of bandeau top, skimpy knickers and a chiffon wrap. They are walking the corridors and also come down to the reception in that area with the client for him to make payment to the hotel.

I have since learnt that this area of China is very popular for business men from Hong Kong who want these sorts of services. i would not like to come here again just for that reason. The area is not for tourism at all and we were here for business. I can honestly say we could not have had a more comfortable stay but I think that the hotel should clean up its act for the benefit of westerners who could be offended by such blatant prostitution, which strangely enough is illegal in China and it also says in the hotel details that it is not allowed her - how hypocritical!
