“Great for exercise and people watching”
Reviewed March 11, 2012

The walk to the lantern at the top of Qifeng Mountain will take you about an hour round-trip, and on a clear day (which can be rare) you can see a fair distance over the city. There are usually some interesting local sights to be seen - some on weekends, some very day - such as a middle-aged gentleman with a large spinning top on a string (in the meadow near the entrance), a group of traditional singers/musicians with a karaoke machine (earplugs are helpful here), and ladies wearing all manner of high heels for this outdoor excursion. Two temples are located within the park, one Buddhist and one Daoist (note 5 RMB entrance fee for each). Now that Qifeng Park has been connected to Huying Park by two walking bridges (to create Huangqi Park) it's an even nicer place to go for a few hours, especially if you have access to a bike to enjoy the 8.5-kim bike loop (wide enough for cyclists and people to share, but use caution as you must everywhere in China).

“Now 2 parks in one with 8km of tracks”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

I use Qifeng park most weekends to walk my dog. I generally access the park from of the bar street gates and walk around the lake watching fishermen or people playing badminton. Recently they completed construction of 2 new foot bridges allowing access to the opposite Huying park. This has created a huge and wonderful park and tracks of 8kms. Allowing you to walk or bike ride from the Pullman to Sofitel hotels for harrier drinks! Nice one Dongguan.
