Certificate of Excellence

Well located in good area thats relatively quiet and safe. Directly opposite a park and within walking distance to other restaurants.

Food in hotel is also good, with chinese, international and japanese range.

Well maintained and comfortable rooms. Small incident aroused when they could not find a laundry bag in my room, which i did not touch too. Took 15min to resolve.

Gym is too small and not well updated or maintained.

We've been staying at the Wellton for the past 3 China trips; each trip is 14-20 days. The location is convenient to get to the factories we work with. The staff at the restaurants, the lounge and the executive level business center is excellent. They are kind and will do anything they can to be of help. Both the Chinese Restaurant and the lounge have fine food in the evenings. We do find the breakfast lacking.

The rooms are fine and the beds are very comfortable. If you have business in the area it's a fine place to stay. Other than for business there would be no reason to stay in this area.

Stayed there 5 times now and always pleased with hotel as a business hotel. There are downsides and things they can improve(considering they are getting more and more european/USA/Aussie guests).
They need better breakfast menus(too Chinese based) and their reception/back up staff need to improve their lauguage skills. Entertaiment a little repetative and could have a sports TV in the bar area.

have stayed here many times. one of the best buffets for breakfast and dinner as any I have stayed in. beds are great. nice bathrooms and good internet service.service is good. check in and out is efficient. good philapino band plays in dining room and lounge nightly. popular with foreign business travelers.

Room Tip: executive floors are good but very quiet lounge with poor service. english a problem for some staff...

It was a long 9 night stay that started with one night with unwanted roomies (roaches!). They did finally move me to another room but not without trying to get me to take a smoking room. Room service in English is a challenge. Friendly and helpful staff but experience level is sub-par. Note to self - bring bug traps next time.

Room Tip: Check the room first before opening your luggage and settling in!

Stayed 1 night for business in late Oct.

The lobby is nice, check in is speedy and staff is friendly and helpful.
The room is very nice, huge comfortable double bed with huge tv.
Large bathtub in the washroom and separate shower.
The internet is fast and free.
The breakfast is just ok., the choice is rather less but the quality is okay.

Overall I would say this stay is very pleasant and very good value for money.
I will recommend this hotel to everyone.

Compared to some hotel options within the industrial area of Dongguan, this would certain be considered luxury. Lower your expectations just a bit - the term 'luxury' is relative! While the hotel certainly has a lot to offer; Western dining, Japanese dining and Chinese dining........everything else was not as expected. To be sure, the rooms were clean (although I woke up with bug bites all over my ankles). The food was actually surprisingly good. We were there four nights and ate at each restaurant. Very nice presentation and food quality. The food exceeded my expectations. The gym is very limited, the equipment quite old and they don't run the AC in there. But if you want a treadmill or dumb bells, you've got them. We paid about $75 USD per night so it is a good deal for all you get.

The spa was hilarious. They offer "foot massage" and "body massage". There are no other options. The foot massage was $9 USD, so you cannot go wrong. It's good, is 60 minutes and includes a scalp and shoulder massage. When they take you back, you enter a sea of reclining chairs with their own televisions. The atmosphere is really nice. The body massage was crazy. No massage tables, it's on a low Japanese bed. I found myself sitting in a pair of spa provided shorts and kimono jacket sitting on the bed face to face with my therapist as I tried to figure out if I should undress or not. The massage was good, very deep tissue. I'm sore today because of it. At one point, I could not stifle my giggles, when halfway through the massage, my very small female therapist was crouched on my tailbone and balancing herself there. Then began a lot of manipulation to my back with her knees. It felt good but it was just a little 'too close'. Stick with the foot massages and you'll be fine.

The one drawback to this 'international hotel' is that it is rare to find anyone who speaks enough English to fully understand anything you say. The staff is helpful, friendly and they want to make you happy, but the language barrier is a problem. It is easy enough to get along on your own here, however, as the menus are in English.

There would be no reason to stay in this area other than business or necessity. There is absolutely NOTHING nearby. Nothing.
