“Little oasis of calm in busy Xiamen”
Review of Prague Cafe

Prague Cafe
Ranked #48 of 1,540 Restaurants in Xiamen
Price range: $3 - $9
Description: At the Prague Café, we focus on making the best quality, authentic European cakes. Homemade cakes and slices are baked with the best local and imported ingredients. We also serve several traditional Eastern European dishes, soups and stews using owner Michal’s family recipes from the Czech Republic. We want to create a warm environment where you can hang out with your friends on comfortable couches. Study in peace with calming background music at a pleasant volume. Relax with a rich Arabica roast and a slice of cake. We are conveniently located right opposite Xiamen University West Gate, on the second floor above the XinHuaDu supermarket. Find us at the top of the stairs behind the panorama of the beautiful city of Prague. From the large, sunny windows, you can see the front of Xiamen University and watch the people rushing about on the street below. The Prague Café is a comfortable escape from the hustle and bustle of the university.

Have been there several times for drinks and snacks; only some limited meals (goulash, western breakfast, home-made cakes and ice-creams).

What is special about this place - small, comfy, clean, great home-made food and good drinks. the Czech owner Michael is always friendly and willing to listen and try his best to make your time there very comfortable. He'll join you for a chat if you want and he has time.

Just a small place, but with couches, nice chairs, good clean western toilet and friendly service.

Michael makes all his own food - excellent tiramisu, cheesecake and ice-creams (I like the cream cheese ice-cream, although the menu calls it 'cheese ice-cream'. our teenage kids love the milkshakes and hamburgers (newly on the menu). great homemade sausage also. And proper gin and soda drinks and whisky shots if you want!

just outside the gate of Xiamen university (the McDonalds/KFC side) - upstairs on 2nd floor -- look for the Czech flag.

Highly recommended.

Tracing the best cheese cake in Xiamen from the German bakery, we got the amazing durian icecream also homemaded by the chef Michal.
We do enjoyed the window view of Xiamen Univ. and the clean while cozy toilet inside:) That's really important for us.
Of course I will be back, with my friends who can help me finishing the whole bowl of Goulash:D
