Hotel is an about 30 min drive away from the airport. It is close to the sea and the exhibition center. The center is only an about 10 min walk away.

Rooms are quite large, quite dark, but it has quite a few good lights. Hence you can make it well lit.
Beds are comfortable.

Bathroom has a bathtub and a shower in front of the bathtub. The toilet has a separate door. Good lighting is also available.

Electric plugs are next to the desk and the bed. They take all the usual standards, such as EU, US, HK etc plugs. One plug next to the desk is UPS.

Breakfast is on the 5th floor. It is quite OK, but the orange juice is for such a quality hotel not adequate.

The TV only has 2 English speaking channels, CNN and one movie channel.

Lots of marble, very high foyer entry, clean, huge, impersonal. All the amenities you can dream of at high price for the area - But who cares ? Most guests do not pay the bills, their company or their host does.
A very nice breakfast buffet with western, Japanese, Chinese food: Too bad a whole bunch of persons was smoking. Normal in China, Not normal in a japanese hotel. But the owner is local. I guess he defines what the management can or cannot do.
Rooms have everything. Bath tub, separate shower, separate toilet (Japanese seats), safe, coffee / tea machine: Wi-fi, ADSL, bathrobe, slippers, the whole thing. If you want no surprise and you can look in your passeport to know where you are - go there no bad surprise. It is close to the convention center. Or anywhere as Xiamen is a small town. Growing like a mushroom, but still human size. All the conveniences of a modern hotel are there.

Room Tip: all are sound proof and similar. High floor is better for the view. When it is not too foggy / Pollu...

I stayed at this Nikko when I was visiting Xiamen's annual CIFIT Investment Fair. The hotel is clean, the staff is nice, overall a great place to stay for business. If you are travelling for pleasure, I would recommend you stay somewhere closer to the beach area.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the water

Came for a business trip. I usually stay at the Crown Plaza but this is a nice alternative if you want to stay in a different and quieter part of town that is closer to the water...a better choice if you are coming to Xiamen to relax. Crown Plaza is much more central and better for business.

I was impressed. The rooms were great with convenient design and not over the top details.. The location is a little bit out of the way but found it to be a nice change.

Try to get a slightly higher room so you can see the water.

I stayed at Hotel Nikko for a month. I liked my room, specially the bathroom where the shower was fitted on top and you can stand out of the bath tub. It was like getting wet in the rain :-)
They had the latest technology bathroom fittings. You press the button and it will clean and dry. the temperature of water and air can be adjusted ...too much information;-)

Breakfast buffet had a great spread of food ranging from chinese, japanese & western food. The japanese restaurant at the hotel had the best japanese food in xiamen. A bit pricey though. The indoor swimming pool was a bit cold during winter. A big gym to workout.

The only concern was communication.. most of the staff could not speak in english.Usually crowded with chinese people. Also, the hotel was located in a remote place.

If you want to relax after a stressful day at work i would definetely recommend this place. But, week-ends can be boring as there aren't much to do near the hotel.

Booked this hotel for the Xiamen marathon, it is extremely close to the starting point, besides that, there are very little in the vicinity.

The hotel is quite new, with nicely furnished room, do check when you book, since some of the rooms have view blocked by the building in front.

I was really impressed by the size and the quality of the Rooms with very tasteful designs and quality fittings. My room had a balcony with Sea few and I actually left the door open to enjoy the sea breeze. The Room was very clean and the towels were thick and fluffy. The Club floor Lounge is well appointed and overlooking the Sea serving a nice Breakfast and Evening Snack selection. Staff was always very friendly, helpful and chatty. I had Dinner in the Benkay Japanese restaurant on the Top Floor with excellent authentic Food and professional Service. The staff throughout spoke very good English.
