If you are trying to get authentic food then do go to DA TONG LU or DA YUAN LU. Those small n non air condition shop are operational since its grandma period.

“Good Shopping Street for Tourist”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

It is built like the walking street of Shanghai and that of Beijing. There are coffee shops, restaurants, department stores and small stores along the street. a lot of stores also sell food items, tea and dried meat and seafood which Xiamen is known for. You can shop till you drop here. Suggest you do not leave the place rush hour especially on a rainy day where you will find it hard to get a ride.

“Good for a varied shopping experience”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

The place is simply teeming with shops. Visitors have the option of shopping inside the shopping malls for more conventional items or walking through the shopping alleys to find more unique goods.

It's a good place to shop for a bargain for people on a budget.

“Nice walk in the evening”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

The shops are open around 9+am, closes around 10pm. Walk away from the main walking street and you will see more interesting small shops and eateries.

“A much commercialised street that has lost some of former lusre”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

I liked it because there are some interesting shops selling local delicacies; do not like it because it is teeming with crowds in peak season
