“Only worth visiting for history buffs”
Reviewed March 7, 2014 via mobile

Huli mountain fort would really omly be worth visiting if you're really really interested in martime history. Rfor everyone else, it's just a quick photo stop, and not really worth the trip.

“Great for Views and History Enthusiasts”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Huli Fort (胡里山炮台)is an ancient fort that has developed throughout the years and last saw action in the 30's when fighting off a couple of Japanese gunboats.
Entry is 25元. Anyone with a passion in Nautical history is going to find this place of interest. There are displays in the old bunkers, lots of cannons ranging in age from ancient to WWII, and you can visit the museum in the old barracks and command centre. English seems to feature more in the modern history of the fort than the ancient history, with many of the ancient displays having no English at all.

Its a nice place to take a walk, lovely views and photo opportunities from the top, there are some strange things dotted around that don't fit with the history of the fort though, stone crocodiles and mushroom fences etc but overall a good way to spend 1-2 hours.

“Huli Mountain Cannon Fort”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Great to see how China protected it's Fort from foreign invaders in the old days. Remarkable big cannons await you when you visit the place. There is also a replica of a cannon where one can practice shoot some movable objects for a fee.

“Nice sea view”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Have a nice sea view here because it is up on a hill. Other than that, not necessary to if you are into WWI/II cannons or history.

“Not attractive for me”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

Although this site enjoys a reputation for a long time. But it was not attractive for me when I visited it. May be the most great thing of this site was the view of the sea. Because I standed on a higher place, so the sea scenery was greateer than I saw ffrom the ground.

Except a not very well restoration, the way to the fort was also boring for me. Spend a moment till I got to the fort, and then just took a photo with it, and then, had a viewed of the sea, finished. I preferred to have a rest on the seaside which was near thie site.
