Even if you're not a piano enthusiast, this is an interesting visit for little cost; although, the promised piano recital, albeit delightful, was a single piece.

This was such a fantastic place to visit....pianos in excellent condition and the tour guides seemed to be all musicians. had a wonderful day visiting this Museum. Xiamen was the best of the three cities i visited during my trip to China

I have no idea about pianos but this place was a real eye opener. The collection looks stunning and the setting is incredible, on a beautiful island and image resting landscape.

For the modest fee, a visit to this museum completes the Gulangyi experience.

I heard disparaging comments about this museum from others before I visited. While it isn't what we might expect in an American musical instrument museum, I think you'd have to been dead not to appreciate the pianos you'll see here. Also, the environment surrounding this museum is beautiful. Take time to walk throughout the area that you access with your ticket.
Check when they are going to play the Steinway piano in the last room. If you can, stay to hear the piano from up very close, like on meter away.

lots of ancient and rare pianos here to see. It would be nicer if they piped in some piano music to add to the atmosphere.
