“what a campus”

Very interesting drive around the campus from the sports arena to the lake. Very eclectic students moving around and ambience was youthful and exciting

“Located in front a nice beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

Modern and at the same time cozy. Nice atmosphere, beautiful gardens and beautiful squares. I wonder how could someone concentrate inside the classroom on a sunny hot day being so close to water.

“Pretty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

Honestly, I saw very little of it. Some meter from the entrance you already can see that the unversity is beautiful: a big lake, well-maintained waits for you. They say the rest of the university is also pretty. I think it is worth a visit because is side-by-side with the Nanputuo Temple, so you can do 2 attractions in a couple hours. Also the entrance is free and the place is very calm, not crowded.

“View one of the prettiest universities in China”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Coming to Xiamen, other than the island of Gulang, do visit the local university there; it was founded by an overseas Chinese named Chen Jia-jin from Malaysia. He had made a lot of effort to upgrade the education in his home town. The campus on on the south side of the city. The architecture is quite spectacular, combining the east and west styles. There is a beautiful lake on the campus, flanked by trees. If you come at the right time, you see all kinds of flowers in Spring and red leaves in Autumn.
Unlike some universities in Beijing or elsewhere, the campus is open to the public.
Next to the university, do visit the Buddhist temple there and if you wish, sample the vegetarian food there and buy the famed cake in the shop.

“Nice place to study but nothing special to see for tourists.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

The line can be long and only a few people are allowed to enter at a time. The entrance is free. The buildings of different colleges are just regular-looking architectural structures. Nothing really special to see. It's a big place though. It's a long walk in the tunnel but I would advise you not to walk to the very end because you'll just walk back again to where you entered. The graffiti are creatively done, for some but not most.
