Very disapointed although good guides recommendations. The food was frozen (no fresh food) and no tast (specially centolla) . We have said this to the waiter and still invoiced us a tip that we did not want. It seems that for tourist we dont have the same service and food quality. Although the highly prices. I will not recommend tourist to go to this "tourist trap"! We can find better alternatives in town, for better prices!

We randomly chose this place to eat dinner during our one night in Punta Arenas. The service was fantastic and the food was very good. My husband had an excellent seafood stuffed chicken. Also we ate with a view of the straight of Magellan! Highly recommend this place.

Why is this restaurant highly recommended in Punta Arenas? The answer is simple, little competition with even worse food.
Food
The ONLY positive about this restaurant is that due to their location they receive local fresh ingredients.
So of course their centolla (King crab) will taste good as it does not need to be cooked or seasoned which is the main weakness of this restaurant. I sincerely do not believe that there is a chef in the kitchen. I ordered a tomato soup which was certainly out of a preserved packet. We ordered potatoes in different variations and they were all pale, white and bland- even the "sauteed" ones. Also ordered a hearts of palm and asparagus salad. Both were white and came straight out of a jar in brine.
Service
Absolutely awful. The waiters walk around as if they own the place and are doing you a favor. They would never survive one night waiting tables in NYC. They are abrupt, rude and lack patience. Maybe it is because they attend to tourists and know they will probably never see you again but that is still not excusable behavior.
Atmosphere
Old, traditional looking restaurant except this one has no vibe, charm or warmth.
Recommendations- Only order fresh seafood (not fried) or lamb. Everything else is a big loss.

A nice restaurant by the seaside of Punta Arenas and walking distance to the Dreams hotel. A good selection of fish and meet dishes. We had a variety of seafood as a sharing starter - fresh and good taste! For mains we all tried the lamb fried in the owen (Chilean speciality) and it had a fantastic taste and tender. They had a limited but good wine list and I can recommend the Errazuriz Max Reserve 2007 to the lamb - heavenly! All tables filled up and a good vibrating athmosphere with a combination of business, family and couples. Very service minded staff and some of them even spoke English. Recommendable!

Been there three times on business travel. Tried different things every time. All were good, lamb, king crab. Abalone was my favorite. Good selection of chilean wine. Try "las encinas" from San Pedro Winery. excellent white wine, at the right price. But this is not a cheap place.

Service is typical Chilean-way for servers. If you connect with them, you are in luck. Otherwise it may border in rudeness and inattentive.

Would eat again there? Sure!
