We (two couples in our mid sixties on a 3 month tour of SA) flew into Punta Arenas where we had rented a vehicle. However, Luis or Pamela will pick you up at the Airport. When we arrived at Casa Escondida we were welcomed like friends, not guests. Pamela and Luis (owners) are the warmest people you will ever meet.
They have a beautiful home and cabins built by Luis, located in a forest setting five kms south of the Airport. Both Pamela and Luis speak excellent English so it's no biggie if you don't speak Spanish. Whenever the option of a home-cooked meal arose we were happy to take advantage. They did a BBQ for us, which was wonderful but with way too much food. We highly recommend you take adavntage of their meal offer.
Having the wood stoves burning continuously not only kept the chill off, but added to the warmth of the entire place.More
